Today, my mother told me I'm going to get lung cancer. Because she smokes. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Bullseye
Today, my mother called me and told me that she went to the hospital. This wasn't a surprise 'cos she normally goes to the hospital for the smallest things. I was a smartass and asked, "What now? You finally have lung cancer from all those cigarettes?" Apparently, she does. FML
Thanks mom
Today, I learned that I may have lung cancer. I've never smoked a day in my life but it could be from secondhand smoke exposure from all the years of my mom smoking around me. FML
NOT NOW!
Today, while driving me to the hospital because I was having an asthma attack, my mother lit a cigarette. FML
Today, my mom told me I'm the reason she's going to kill herself one day. FML
Today, in front of a hospital, I noticed that an old lady was having trouble lighting her cigarette because she had Parkison's. So I went to help her to light it up and she then started chatting with me and told me she had lung cancer. FML
Today, my future mother-in-law told me she thought I was severely allergic to cigarette smoke. That hasn't stopped her from chain-smoking around me for the last 3 years. FML
Smoking kills
Today, my grandmother - who has been a heavy smoker for almost forty years, and does not believe in the dangers of smoking - was diagnosed with COPD. Also, I'm now at a greater risk of developing COPD because of her (and my parents, who also smoke). FML
Today, it's the third day since my mum quit smoking, and I realised that her health-drive is having a negative effect on my own health when she bitch slapped me down the stairs because she didn't get a joke I told her. FML
Bad Luck Brian
Today, my doctor told me that my lungs are as bad as a 60-year-old heavy smoker's. I'm 19 and I've never touched a cigarette in my life. FML
You hypocrite
Today, my mother lectured me about going to the bar too often. She did this while rolling a joint. FML

Um, a study on what, exactly?

Every study I've ever read - both recent and from years ago - talks about how dangerous second hand smoke can be. Do I'm not quite sure where you are getting your info from, but it doesn't seem like a very credible source.

The only studies that claim passive smoking is OK are the ones funded by the tobacco companies. They are not independent and were commissioned solely to 'prove' that point.. You can't take those as fact.

Her stupidity is almost as dangerous as the second-hand smoke she's helping you to breathe in.

Why is she stupid?

Ugh, another moron who believes the "cigarettes give you cancer" myth. It isn't true! Light 'em up! Everyone knows smoking makes you look cool!
redbluegreen 41
Duh! Everyone knows that dangling a phallic symbol from your mouth makes you look awesome.

ogthug, I'd rethink your commenting strategy a bit, my man. Calling someone a "******* idiot" is always more successful when you don't misspell half the words in your comment.

Unfortunately, she's probably right. There is no safe amount of second-hand smoke to which one can be exposed.

looks like op has inherited stupidity you can get cancer from second hand smoke

Well hopefully you don't get much from your mother.

Second hand smoke kills more than those who smoke. On the otherhand, tell her she is plotting your murder and say this with a bunch of people around. Hope that makes you feel better.

I received lung cancer from my mother as a result to her constant addiction to cigarettes. It is very likely, sadly enough.
