Today, in front of a hospital, I noticed that an old lady was having trouble lighting her cigarette because she had Parkison's. So I went to help her to light it up and she then started chatting with me and told me she had lung cancer. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Bullseye
Today, my mother called me and told me that she went to the hospital. This wasn't a surprise 'cos she normally goes to the hospital for the smallest things. I was a smartass and asked, "What now? You finally have lung cancer from all those cigarettes?" Apparently, she does. FML
NOT NOW!
Today, while driving me to the hospital because I was having an asthma attack, my mother lit a cigarette. FML
Today, my mother told me I'm going to get lung cancer. Because she smokes. FML
Today, I got fed up with my neighbor who has been coughing, night and day, for six months. I rang at her door to tell her about several remedies I know of to help, so I could sleep. I thus found out she has lung cancer. FML
Cold open
Today, I visited my ex-girlfriend's house. I saw her mother and asked, "Hi! Have you recovered from that nasty cold that you had for so long?" She said, "I don't have a cold," to which I smiled and said, "That's great to hear!" Turns out she has lung cancer instead. FML
420 BLAZE IT BRO!!!
Today, a patient at the hospital where I work asked me if he and his son could light up a joint. He was on oxygen, and serious. FML
Do as I say, not as I do
Today, I was having a cigarette in a smoking area when a mother with a pram strode towards me and exaggerated a cough to make some sort of point. Reluctantly, I put it out and walked off. I then turned around to see her lighting up a cigarette, and blowing smoke all over her baby. FML
Bigmouth strikes again
Today, I was working at a hospital-level rest home. I was making the rounds when I noticed a woman was sitting in her (electric) wheelchair in the middle of the hall. Going closer, I saw her battery was flat so I said, "Uh-oh! Looks like you've died." She bawled her eyes out and said, "Not yet." FML
Smoking kills
Today, my grandmother - who has been a heavy smoker for almost forty years, and does not believe in the dangers of smoking - was diagnosed with COPD. Also, I'm now at a greater risk of developing COPD because of her (and my parents, who also smoke). FML
Grouchy old hag
Today, I was ordering a new vape for my Grandma online, since she refuses to use the internet. When I told her that the type of vape she uses wasn't available anymore, she screamed, "WELL THEN, I'LL JUST GET A CARTON OF CIGARETTES, AND SMOKE THEM UNTIL I GET CANCER!" FML

Meh, she would have done it anyway, right? So don't feel bad about helping her. It's more like F her Life

I'd say it's more like she deserves it for smoking... but OP, don't feel bad, you were just trying to help

Same with #3.. she was gonna smoke it anyways.. with or without your help once she got it lit.. Not your fault at all.. So don't worry about it, it was her choice anyways.

Don't feel bad ... she wanted a cigarette. It would be different if you were somehow forcing her or something.

People like that deserve to die of lung cancer, not those innocent people who breathe in second hand smoke or have a genetic predisposition to cancer. To live in this age and not know that smoking causes cancer, and to continue smoking after you get cancer, is basically spitting on life.

It's an old woman-she could have started smoking before anyone realized how damaging it was, back when it was 'cool', and then, once she was old with lung cancer, didn't have the determination to quit.

They deserve to die? What the **** is wrong with you?

They deserve to die because they are doing everything possible to give themselves a fatal disease. Smoking is a choice, and for those thinking of saying that it's 'hard to quit', put on your grown-up pants, quit whining, and use a little willpower.

You do realise it's harder to give up smoking cigarettes than it is giving up heroin, right? On top of that, the government will offer rehab for addictions to almost anything other than tobacco. Why don't you pull the stick out of your ass and be a grown up like the rest of us and live and let live?

And people who continue to be ***** deserve the back lashing they cop. Most lung cancers are terminal, who the hell would go through painful withdrawl symptoms when they're dieing anyway?
