Today, my mother-in-law grounded me because I went to the store in the "dangerous" rain. My husband says that if I don't obey then we won't work out. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my mom took my cell to work with her. When she got home later, she scolded me for not answering her calls. When I pointed out that she'd taken it, she grounded me for "talking back". FML
Today, my mom tried to ground me. In the apartment that I own. Because I didn't eat enough of the dinner that I'd made. FML
You OK hon?
Today, my normally very modest and prissy mom came home, pissed off about something. I asked her what was wrong, but she wouldn't say, and snapped at me to "fuck off." She then grounded me for "making" her use that kind of "vile language." FML
Today, my mother-in-law told my fiancé that I had to leave and wasn’t allowed to live there anymore. I own the house. She’s mad because I locked the door so she couldn't walk in anytime she wanted. FML
Today, my parents grounded me because I refused to do my little sister's homework for her. FML
Logic
Today, I was grounded by my mom because I had slept in past 11, when she wanted me to wake up at seven to do chores. According to her logic, I should have seen the note she left on the counter earlier this morning. FML
Nice try, Mom
Today, my mom lost an argument and tried to ground me. I’m 43 years-old and own my own house, so yes, she actually tried to tell me to stay grounded in my own house. FML
Today, after my mom picked me up from the mall, she asked me what was in my bag from Gap. I wouldn't tell her, and she ended up grounding me. It was her Mother's Day present. FML
Rebel yell
Today, my mom and stepdad finally grounded my horrible, rebellious sister. The problem is that they grounded me as well in order to "keep me in line and make sure that I don't do what she was doing." FML
Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML

Your husband isn't a real man. A real man would.....OOPS- wait a minute. My wife just told me to go fix her dinner. Be right back.

That's "Not Without My Daughter" scary... if he wasn't kidding, you should plan an exit strategy.

Funny, I didn't see anywhere in the Posting where it said the husband was Muslim. Hmm.

Ask your husband if he has any previous failed marriages.

Not to BE religious but it sounds like they are and there is a verse in genesis that says to leave your father and mother. he needs to learn this and do so.

yeah, and why WOULD you and your husband live with your parents? (and it's Genesis. 2:24)

Haha, you say, "Not to be religious..." but then you go to be religious. Things like this amuse me.

Get out while you still can....

Expect more of the same in the future unless you stand up for yourself now. Don't waste your life being miserable!!!

I second this. OP, either put your foot down, gfto or expect a life time of groundings. From your Mother-in-Law. As an adult. This is so bad that it's not even funny. BUT, I warn you, if you go through with the marriage and keep posting FMLs about your crazy mother in law no one will sympathize with you cause it'll be a YDI. Get out NOW, before your life, and FML empathy is ruined forever!

My future mother-in-law seems like this at times (she really wants to have her hand in mine and my fiance's life. For example, rather than us becoming independent and having our own apartment, she wants us both to live in her basement until we are married (2+ years from now).

... Umm... I really hope he was kidding. If not, as everyone else has said... get out.

Run. Now. Don't look back. This has the makings of a bad Lifetime movie written all over it!
