Today, my girlfriend of six months dumped me over the phone. I'm in the military and recently had to move away to another fort. We'd agreed that we would try to make long distance work. I'd even offered to buy a plane ticket to come see her each weekend. I've been gone less than two weeks. FML
Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Today, I broke up with my girlfriend, because her military father, who doesn't like me, continuously threatened my safety for dating her. Now he's threatening to kill me for dumping her. I can't win. FML

Arrange the meeting in his 1SG or CO's office, offer to testify at his divorce trial, be prepared to explain how you can be ignorant of the fact she is married. Maybe you didn't meet any of her friends, but did you really propose without meeting her Family?

wow. i don't understand how someone would cheat on their loved one that is in a war fighting for everyone!! that is just sooo wrong. i understand that she might wanted to be "loved" but if you need a loved one all the time then don't date-marry, someone that will almost always be gone. thats not right. her loved one in Iraq is i'm sure always thinking about her and how much he loves and misses her. i'm so against this, as you can tell!!
