Today, after months of being pestered to do so, I finally read the first Harry Potter book. I hated it. Upon hearing this, my girlfriend posted the fact on Facebook, where I immediately received tons of abuse and eventual shunning by my friends, family, and coworkers. My girlfriend just laughed. FML

Today, I had to endure my girlfriend crying and screaming at me. The reason? I'm not able to please her like the fictional character Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey. When she left me, she took all her stuff and left me with copies of the three books. FML

What i dont get is how this got more you deserved its.... How can a book about fairies and wizards be that entertaining? I know im getting thumbed down to hell for this, but harry potter is what all the kids in 3rd grade read when they wanted to feel smart, yes it has like 400 pages but each page is double spaced and has huge font. *thumbs down*

I said you deserved it, not because I'm a massive fanboy or anything, but because this is the kind of thing you can fix in a week. You knew she liked the books, so go to the library and check them out. Or at least see the movies or something. Seriously. It's not that hard.

It doesn't matter how easily it can be fixed. If the relationship is fragile enough to end over some books, it is not a relationship worth having. What if OP read the books and didn't like them? 100 bucks says he will need to lie about it because she will break up with him for not enjoying them, despite having read them like she wanted.
