Today, my girlfriend decided it would be cute to leave a love letter in my car while I was at work. She left my lights on. I got a dead battery. FML

Today, I woke up to find that I left my headlights on last night. I found out by the headlights of my car smashed and a post-it note on my windshield saying "you accidentally left your headlights on... I took care of that for you". FML
Today, I left my lights on in my car, which I only realized at lunchtime, so I made sure to turn the lights off, and tried to start it. The battery was dead, so I called my dad to jump start it before I got back from my game. I later came back from the game and the lights were on. He'd left the lights on after jump starting it. FML
Today, I thought it would be romantic to take my girlfriend to the beach. It was raining so we left our shoes and phones in the car so we wouldn't be bothered. Apparently, I left my keys in the car too. The car was locked. FML
Today, my car ran out of battery. I'm writing this from the middle of the road. FML
Today, somebody stopped by the front desk at the hotel I work at to report a vehicle had its headlights on. I wrote down the info, including the plate. Hours later, after my shift was over, I finally realized that it was MY vehicle. The battery was dead. FML
Today, I got into my car and it wouldn't start. I noticed I had left the lights on and assumed the battery was dead. Then, I couldn't get my key out of the ignition. So, I called AAA only to have the guy put my car in park and start the engine. FML
Today, my girlfriend left me. When she moved out, she even took the light bulbs with her. FML
Today, I found a note on my car windshield that said, “Sorry about what happened.” I immediately assumed someone had hit it. After panicking for 2 minutes, I realized the note had been left by my friend, who had borrowed my car and accidentally left the radio playing overnight, draining the battery. FML
Today, after working the midnight shift at my job, I thought it would be nice to leave a sweet love note along with my boyfriend's favourite candy in his car. Upon finding it, he immediately broke up with me for "breaking into" his car. FML
Today, my phone died while I was on the phone with my girlfriend. When I finally got a charger, I saw a text message from her. I'm now single. FML

It's the thought that counts. At least you have a girl that loves you enough to do sweet and spontaneous things like that. And I don't mean this in a bitter way. It's a rare thing, cherish it.

I hate to be the nasty stereotypically-thinking commenter here, but you don't write suprise love letters to your boyfriend... Well, okay, you could, but I guess something really cool to eat, a massage or one of a tons of different things a man would appreciate would probably better. Not that I don't think that it was a cute gesture or that I wouldn't do something romantic once in a while, but I guess OP was really pissed when he saw it, romantism aside. Unless he really loves her for her cute sillyness.

You don't know that, OP doesn't specify his feelings in the FML. If I was tired after a day at work and thinking only about getting home as quickly as possible, well... It's possible that I would've appreciated the irony and laughed at it, but I'd rather be pissed than sad.
