Today, my family sat me down and told me I was spending way too much time with my boyfriend and not enough time with them. My boyfriend has been away in Iraq for six months and just came home a week ago. FML

Today, I went to spend some time with my family. Unbeknownst to me, while I was having quality time with my family, my boyfriend of a year and a half was packing up his belongings and going back to his estranged wife. FML
Today, I was spending time with my boyfriend for the first time in two weeks. I started tearing up and telling him that I feel like he never has time for me anymore. He responded with, "I'm hungry." FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me for asking to spend time with him after not seeing him very much in three months, because he doesn’t have time for me and is so stressed out he doesn’t have time for fun. Then he decided he should go to Mexico with the people he works and lives with so they could have fun together. FML
Today, my long-distance boyfriend was at my house for a 10-day visit. He told me that we'd never spent so much time together, so he didn't know me well and now, he'd finally met the "real me". He doesn't like it. FML
Today, my boyfriend came home from a two week vacation and told me I needed to move out. FML
Today, my partner was sent 450 miles away by the army, after he had been home for only 22 hours. Yesterday they told him he could come home for two weeks. I guess the British army doesn't want me to be happy. FML
Today, my girlfriend of three years broke up with me because I'm in the military and I'm gone too much. The reason I enlisted in the first place is because we agreed that the money and benefits I would earn would help us be able to start a family in the future. FML
Today, my mother lectured me for not spending enough time with her. We literally just got back from a 10 day vacation together. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me. He said it was because his online gaming friends don't like it when I ask him to spend time with me. FML
Today, my parents spent more time, money, and effort on my boyfriend's birthday present than they ever have on any of mine. FML

My best friend is in the Navy, when I was 18 and still lived with my parents it was expected that when she came into town I'd be gone for a week or longer. Hell it is so expected of us that her family still takes for granted I will be at their house for every major holiday for dinner. Considering that she is just my best friend and he is your boyfriend (or fiance/husband/whatever) I find it absurd that they don't understand why you would want to spend so much time with him when he is home. You should just claim my family, they are obviously way more laid back.

I would be pissed if my mom sat me down to tell me that!!mom is always alseep when I'm home and I only get to see my boyfriend on Wensdays and Fridays, which sucks cause I'm 19!!!

I've been married for Four years and my wife had the same problem when I came home from Iraq and we had already been married living away from her family for three years...So yes I know how much it sucks.

Maybe there is some specific event that causes your family to be expressing that you're spending so much time with your boyfriend? Is it interfering with your schoolwork or something? Mostly it just sounds like your family is clueless, but they might have a point in there somewhere.
