I had a similar situation happen to me but they got in a relationship almost right after we broke up. I can understand and empathize with how awful this must be for you.

Either he just jumped into something incredibly quickly and is stupid or he's been cheating for such a long time that he's a terrible person. Either way you dodged a bullet.
