Today, my dog died and I told my grandfather I wanted her to be cremated. I came home later to find him burning her in our barbecue pit. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Poor good boy
Today, my dog died. I spent ages digging him a grave and buried him in the garden so that my dad wouldn't have to deal with the stress when he got home from work. When my dad got home he told me that he had wanted the dog to be cremated. I have just had to dig up my dog's body. FML
Today, my dog died. My parents told me to bury it out back. In the process, I managed to dig up my cat. FML
Today, my dog died. We planned to get her cremated and keep the ashes. My sister put forward the idea of putting the ashes in our food so our dog can be "inside of us, always." She's completely serious. I'm scared to eat food from her now. FML
Every little helps
Today, I found out that my grandmother desecrated my grandfather's grave. 14 years after his death, she dug up his body and had him cremated so that she could sell his plot back to the cemetery for money. I was the one who found out so I had to tell the rest of the family. FML
Smokey
Today, my grandpa decided to charcoal-grill some steaks. Inside the house. FML
Today, my new dog unburied my old dog and chewed on his bones. FML
Keep some things to yourself
Today, a colleague was talking about how she'd made some tomato sauce from scratch for her dad, but then he died before she could give it to him. I said she should have put it in the casket with him so the cremation would've been a real barbeque. My filter is broken. FML
Awkward...
Today, I went to this coffee shop in town that has a fire pit outdoors with my boyfriend. I threw out the idea of sitting by the fire together, and he responded by telling me that his father and dog died in a house fire when he was young. FML
Today, my dog showed me her latest kill. Too bad it was the stuffed animals my dead grandmother had given me as a child that had a lot of sentimental value to me. FML
Today, I told my daughter that we were going to the beach. Today, my daughter also tried to dig up our deceased dog, who we buried in our back yard last week, so he could come along. FML

Not so much. That's how I wanna go. Burned in the country wilderness with my family partying around me. From the ash you came and to the ash you shall return.

That's just morbid.... I'd go ape shit if someone did that to my dogs deceased body. It's disrespectful.

As far as I know, dogs aren't sentient. It's morally about as bad as burning a pork chop.

16- Gets the job done? Okay, let me light one of your animals on fire and then say that .... Jeesh.

You're that good your eyes fall out?' If that was true the NBA would be blind...okay now I wanna watch an entire NBA game where every player is blindfolded. Score will still be higher than a WNBA game...

Wouldn't all the guts and everything go all over the barbecue? Good luck ever eating anything from there again.

Very disturbing image.. Reminded of something in a zombie movie..

4| I wouldn't be surprised if the grandfather gutted the dog, from a practical stand point. Not saying I agree (I don't), but I can see that happening.... My condolences, OP.

The fluids dripping and popping would be the big worry. And since cremation takes place at roughly 1700°F, a barbecue might take a day or so to complete. This is my job

He's cremating her just like you said. Guess he took it a little too literally.

Don't get all up in his grill about it.

Don't get so fired up over it. You're going to burn yourself out thinking about it.

I'm sure OP's charred for life now.
LolPieRofl 11
Yeah, that was very barb-aric of the grandfather to do such a thing.
alliewillie 22
Well, he was just doing as you asked...

OP didn't ask the grandfather to cremate the dog- Just that they WANTED the dog cremated. I dunno how he thought this was a DIY project though- there's no way you could get a grill hot enough, and those are for COOKING meat. Not incinerating.
