Today, my dad yelled at me for being irresponsible while he watched me fold his laundry. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my dad gave me a twenty minute lecture about responsibility and how lazy he considers me to be. He then yelled at me for not making his bed and getting his clothes off the floor. FML
Today, my dad told me I was folding my laundry all wrong. I said with a smirk, "A little clothes-minded, are we?" He slapped me. Hard. FML
*shrinks into corner*
Today, my dad decided to be an awesome person and fold my laundry without telling me. Later, I heard my parents having a conversation about a pair of panties that were "like dental floss" and which sister they belonged to. FML
Can't win, part 15
Today, while my parents were grocery shopping, I cleaned the kitchen, swept floors, did laundry, and cleaned bathrooms, only to finish right before they got home. After dinner, my dad bitched and complained that I didn't take out the trash and he had no room to throw away his paper plate. FML
That would be correct
Today, my dad is infuriating by increasingly asking me to do things around the house, but because he doesn’t like how I do them he yells at me and then does it himself. It’s almost like he cares more about inventing excuses to yell at me than he does to actually get things done. FML
Batshit soup
Today, I was doing laundry and realized that my father had left dirty underwear soaking in a bucket outside for the last two weeks. I informed him that they needed to be thrown out, and they smelled like sewage. It's been over 95 degrees outside lately here. He then yelled and sweared at me. FML
Today, my boyfriend yelled at me from the other room for washing the dishes "too loudly". FML
OCD or asshole?
Today, I got home to my grandma yelling at the top of her lungs that I didn't do everything I was supposed to when I was home. I literally washed dishes, cleaned counters, vacuumed, gathered trash, AND cleaned the bathroom. I didn't fold my blankets. That's it. That's what she was yelling about. FML
Today, I visited my dad. He gave the, "You live under my roof, you follow my rules" lecture since I didn't do my "chores". I moved out 3 years ago. FML
This guy grudges
Today, my dad is still mad because I tossed his empty coffee can over 3 days ago. FML

11, FML means "**** my life" so I don't see how you'd conclude that using "****" on this site would be inappropriate.

In what way?

Doing chores doesn't make a person automatically responsible. For example, as far as we know, OP could have broken curfew, or overspent on needless things. It does not say he got mad and called her irresponsible about her doing chores. It had to be something else that was left out of the fml.

What was he yelling at you for being irresponsible for?

My dad once whined that no one in our family took care of him—as I was massaging his dry, flaky feet. I feel your pain and bewilderment, OP.

Did you turn his laundry pink again?

Some people are forgetting that a person can be responsible in one thing and not in another. Yes OP is responsible with household responsibilities, but they may not be in something else for all we know. If he/she messes up on something else, automatically the father cannot say anything? come on people.

Finally. I don't see how just folding laundry makes someone automatically a responsible person in general.

This may be true #14, but the wrong time to yell at your kid about being irresponsible is when s/he's doing chores--specially, taking care of your stuff. OP's dad could have saved it for another time.

I agree with 53. It's like telling a waiter that you hate the restaurant and plan on complaining about the service and stiffing them on their tip in the middle of ordering your drink; you're just asking to get slammed. If anything, the dad just picked the wrong time to bring up responsibility, regardless of what OP is irresponsible about.

You can never fully please your parents. I've worked and cleaned the house all day only for my mom to tell me how much I've been slacking off lately. Don't worry OP, your dad means well.
