Today, I sliced my arm open on the weekend, patched it with a fabric bandaid. Had an allergic reaction to the bandaid, arm now swollen, blistering and keeping-me-awake itchy. Pharmacist's advice? "Oooh, that looks bad. Better put a bandaid on that." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I finally went to have blood taken for an allergy test I really need. Afterwards, I had an allergic reaction to the bandaid they used on my arm. FML
Today, I got a bug bite on my boob. I scratched it so much it started bleeding so I put a bandaid on it. Turns out the band-aid had latex in it and I got an allergic reaction to it. The bug bite is still bleeding and the top half of my boob is swollen. FML
Today, I discovered that I'm allergic to band-aids. I now have a band-aid shaped rash around a tiny cut on my leg. Oh the irony. FML
Today, I went to the store and bought some cream to help with a sunburn I'd gotten a few days ago. What's worse than having red, peeling, and painful skin? An allergic reaction on top of it. FML
Today, while observing a surgery, I was asked to open a glass ampule of adrenaline. Not only did I break it and get it everywhere, I sliced open my thumb bad enough to need stitches. FML
Today, I got a paper cut while opening my box of Band-Aids. FML
SK8ER
Today, I was riding a longboard down a hill and I fell off. I was all scraped up so I made sure to clean my wounds and put bandages on them. Turns out I'm allergic to the glue on the bandages and I have itchy hives all over and around my open wounds. FML
Today, I had an allergic reaction to my deodorant. My armpits wouldn't stop itching, and by the time my shift was over, they were raw and bloody. FML
How many cans did I have last night?
Today, as I peeled a now soggy Band-Aid off my finger, I discovered that in the dim light of yesterday evening, I had, with great anxiety, wrapped it around the wrong finger. FML
Today, I was told I needed to start carrying bandaids with me at work because practically every day I hurt myself. FML

hmmm...Maybe, you should have gone to the freakin doctor if you sliced your arm that badly idiot! Your pharmacist's job is to give you medicine, not diagnose you.

A pharmacist (at least one who paid attention in school) should know that you need to probably talk to your doctor. They can at least recommed hydrocortisone to help the itch. they should also be able to tell you a type of band-aid to use. if its bad enough though, you should prolly just go to the doctor, stitches or glue would do wonders, and no allergic reaction haha

I know exactly what you mean! I am allergic to the fabric and the sticky stuff on all bandaids... It is majory gay. Everytime I accidentally cut myself I have to use a towel to stop the bleeding and then I have to be careful not to reopen the cut everytime I am doing something... And as for the pharmacist, it may not be their job to diagnose but they should know what lotions etc are recommended for itches and then he should have also given an alternative for a bandaid. My friend from school is working in a pharmacy.

Your doctor or pharmacist should be able to advise you in which bandaids are hypo allergenic. different brands use different adhesive and fabric

I think sore meant that after s/he realized that they were allergic to the bandage, s/he went back to the pharmacy to get another kind of bandage. The pharmacist must have seen it and said to put a band-aid on it. Am I right?
