Today, my brother deleted all traces of the novel I've been working on for three years from my laptop. The reason? When I was born I "stole all of Mum and Dad's attention." He's 24. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Must be one hell of a novel
Today, after 3 years of writing a murder mystery novel that I was really proud of, my dad stole my notebook. He mistook it as my diary and turned it in to the police and apparently I can't have it back because it may be used as evidence. Some of the stories were inspired by real events. FML
Precious little boy
Today, I woke up from a nap to find my little brother playing some games on my phone. A few hours later I come to find he had deleted all 500 pictures from my trip to Europe last month. He needed more space to download the games. Mom says he's too young to understand what he did wrong. He's 14. FML
Today, my 24-year-old, unemployed brother stole all of my food money and went out with his friends. His punishment from our parents? He has to pay me back when he gets a job. My stomach has to wait. FML
Today, my little sister got mad at me because I wouldn't let her read my IM conversation. I took a nap and when I woke up, my laptop was gone. She took it on a trip to her grandparents' house, six hours away. Nude pictures of me and my paper due tomorrow are on the laptop. FML
Today, I found my brother tampering with my laptop. He had changed the entire settings, in ways I don't even know how to fix. I finally had to get my mom to threaten him to change it back to its original setting. I'm 15. He's six and can barely get dressed by himself. FML
Busted
Today, while having a sneak through my brother's browser, I found a bookmark for a Google Docs file. It was a short story involving him horrifically killing our entire family. It ended with the words: "And that is what happens when people don't respect the author's privacy." FML
Always save to the cloud!
Today, I finally finished typing up a story I had been working on for about 7 months, saved it on my computer and left to hang with friends. Came home later to find my dad had sold my laptop in order to pay his phone bill. My hard work is now gone. FML
Today, I found out that while I was at college, my brother downloaded three terabytes of porn on my laptop and blamed it on me. My parents believed him. FML
Today, I fell asleep while using my laptop. The next thing I know, it's 8am and my dad is screaming at me for posting "u skank-ass cunt-face" on my mom's Facebook timeline. I never made that post, but he won't believe me. My asshole brother, meanwhile, can't stop smirking at me. FML
Today, my brother stole my hard drive and wiped it. My hard drive had a 10-page school project on it. The project is due tomorrow. FML

In return, put a pillow over his face because "He's sucking up all the good air. "

Delete that ****** from your life. If he hasn't got over it by now, he never will.

It's okay, please give him the time to heal from his childhood trauma. 24 year-olds need some tender loving too. But the novel... Lol :) Hope you have a good memory ;)

To #8- moron, when your brother is 24 years old you think that might not be a problem anymore, jesus. And it doesn't even say his brother was living with him, he might have been visiting.

ummm, do you know what it's like to go through that as a child? i would consider doing the same thing if it bothered me as much as it did when i was younger. i'm so sorry, but i can't say i blame him.

Dude...he's 24 years old....you think he needs his bottle too?

Yeah actually. You get over it. And even if you don't get over it, that's no excuse to completely delete something that your sibling has been working on for years.

# 15 Its because you're jealous. The green monster is never good, you can't side with him, its not right. :| For being 24, thats REALLY immature and they should be old enough to say **** it and not destroy someones hard work over jealousy.

It's not like the kid asked to be born. He should act his stupid shit out with his parents, not his sibling.

#130- it's not the younger siblings fault for being born, blame the parents for having the child.. andd have you EVER considered anger management?? You've kinda got some problems buddy.

ccyto, you have some serious problems. I'm a middle child, and my sister stole all the attention. It's called having a younger sibling. Unless your parents locked you in a room and fed you feces and allowed your younger sibling to come in and drop kick you whenever they wanted, your anger seems a little uncalled for. Are you saying that every person who wasn't the youngest in their family or an only child should be allowed to go around with all this rage bottled up inside from twenty years ago, and have an excuse to do anything they want because they didn't get all the attention? Boo hoo. Seriously, you need help.

I am a middle child, and I have no memory of ever feeling that my younger sister stole any attention. Well, she got given my old blanket, and I was annoyed, but other than that... I was never angry with her. WTF.

goddamn thumbsuckers.

You were never Jealous of your sister, is that what you meant to say? Because if you really did mean you were never angry at your sister I'm going to call BS. However, I CAN believe that you were never jealous of your sister. I can only remember once when I was jealous of my little sister, but I can think of a whole host of times when I have been angry with her.

Bah. It's not mentally scarring, otherwise, my older brothers would have killed me by now. I needed ALOT of attention, as I used to break everything. But the attention thing... jealousy. It's natural, but isn't bloody serious. It's a petty little thing that this guy, and you, have no control over. He was affected by it, as was just about EVERY eldest child ever born. So he can't use that an an excuse. They might annoy you when you are young, but when you get older, it becomes nothing. FYL, FHL and **** the OPs life.

#130 Sir, you need to calm down!

You deserve it for not having remote backups. Backups exist because goofy shit like this happens.
xkaitlinwhitex 0
okay well, i probably wouldn't go that far. i wouldn't clear the recycling bin. the most it would do is give you a good scare.

YDI it a little for not backing that shit up. That's THREE YEARS of work, and you didn't save it somewhere else? Fail.
studentwoes 2
Hahahaha! I was going to say the same thing! THREE YEARS of work and you don't have it backed up anywhere? Epic Fail! These days I thought it was pretty common knowledge that everyone should back up any kind of important documents, just in case - you never know what could happen!
steveakafranxy 7
op says his brother deleted ALL TRACES, which pretty much implies that he did back it up

If all traces of the book was on the one computer then they deserve it. What of the computer crashed or got infected. It is extremely ridiculous to save all copies of a book you have been working on for three years on one computer. Save in different things, not just one place ?

hahaha damn that sucks. I'm sorry maybe call the geek squad? it could still be on the harddrive

BACKUP! You only had ONE copy of your novel? You should at LEAST also have it on a flashdrive, or maybe an internet storage site. Anyway, the OP totally stole this from Little Women. Fake!! JK...
