Today, my boyfriend had the choice of A) living alone gaming, or B) moving in with me, gaming in his own man-cave, lots of sex, and lots of pizza. He chose choice A. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boyfriend and I were planning how to spend the day together. When I suggested we start off with some fun in bed, then get some pizza and play his favorite video game, he sighed, "Can't we just go straight to gaming?" FML
Plebs need not apply.
Today, when my new boyfriend told me he liked playing games, he meant a 60" TV with a professional gaming chair in the middle of his living room, and 48-hour gaming marathons where he totally ignores me, refuses to sleep or shower, and only has energy drinks and cheerios. FML
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do
Today, my boyfriend and I broke up. He said it was because he wanted to 'do his own thing'. So gaming 24/7 like he has for the past two years of our relationship, then. FML
Bates Motel
Today, I gave my boyfriend a choice between me and the super creepy, codependent, almost Norman Bates relationship he has with his mother. Guess which he chose. FML
Today, I had to choose between staying with my boyfriend and moving out to a better job. I chose my boyfriend. He promptly left me because I didn't take the job. FML
Today, I gave the option to my boyfriend of 5 years to either quit World of Warcraft of lose me. He said WOW makes him happier. FML
Today, I'm staying at my boyfriend's house and things were getting heated when he got a call from one of his mates wanting to play Counter Strike. Next thing I know, I'm laying in bed by myself listening to him rage. FML
Switch 2: Electric Boogaloo
Today, I found my boyfriend playing games when we have 5 million things to do, but the bastard picked me up, put me in the hall, shut the door in my face, and barricaded it with the sofa. I texted him, threatening to break up unless he opened the door; he texted back to leave my key behind when I left. FML
Today, I found out that the only reason my boyfriend wants to move in with me is so he has better internet connection and won't get kicked off of Xbox live while playing MW2. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I reached that point in our relationship where just a simple phone conversation was too boring. His idea to spice things up? Playing Minecraft together. FML

Either he's just generally stupid or there has to be more to this story... Must be a reason for why he chose what he did.

he knew sex was going to be a huge obstacle in his path towards saving the world and online greatness. our maybe he just doesn't share pizza.

lose the gamer. I have one who sits on his games chatting to his guy friends all night long. it's a lonely life. sex works only when they really want it. raids take precedence because their man friends depend on them. Hubby logged on tonight and apologized to his man friends for disappearing as his 4 yr old FORCED him to play with her while I was working then I KIDNAPPED him to work in the garden. I'm sure he'd love to game all day and live without distractions

Sounds like a genuine gaming addiction.

I'll take choice B

He's probably cheating. If he moves in with you, it'll make it more difficult.

Sounds like there's a lot more to the story. Wonder what's in your head that you jump right to this conclusion...

I wonder why my comment that clearly says "probably" offends you. Guilty conscious, maybe?

Sounds like somebody isn't as amazing as she thinks she is.

He probably made a wise choice. I made choice B once. It wasn't worth it.

If you move in with your girlfriend and think its going to be all steaks and ********, you're gonna have a bad time.

There is very little about marriage that is permanent. However, even if you want to view marriage as a more permanent relationship than not married you have to take into account that you go through the not married part to get to the married part. So even if you justify things by explaining "When I said non-permanent is meant it could end at any moment, not its guaranteed to." your original post still comes off incredibly childish. Think about it this way, just for perspective sake, if the OP and her man are in their 20s and have been together for eight years, wouldn't you assume that they'd be getting engaged soon or at the very least moving in together? If you had been dating someone for five years and you thought it was all going well but they out of the blue broke up with you, wouldn't that hurt you? Would it make things better if someone then said something like "Oh boo-hoo, you weren't married so get over it." ? The importance of a relationship is not decided by the "permanence" of it but by the feelings involved in it. Don't be the kind of person who thinks a relationship doesn't matter yet if there is no ring involved.

Wow what an idiot

Yeah but if he's gaming and you interrupt him by asking for sex, you could throw him off his game. I say he made a wise choice.
