Today, my best friend became my ex-best friend. I have finally gotten over the guy she stole from me a year ago and have developed a crush on another guy. My best friend called me today to tell me that she broke up with the first guy and is now going out with my current crush. FML
Today, my supposed "best friend" started going out with the girl I'd just split up with, immediately after she said she wanted to see other people. FML

Her friend broke up with her SO, I would assume because she no longer loves him. He could have been abusive, which would be a cause for celebration.

Being happy someone else's relationship ended, makes your SO break up with you to get with your best friend? Well that's interesting. She didn't like him, and she's allowed to have that opinion, friends often see things you don't in your relationship. A lot of people are happy when they see their best friend is finally free of an asshole. My best friend's ex was controlling, emotionally abusive, and manipulative. I was ecstatic when it finally ended, and she realized how terrible he was and completely understands why I was happy that it was over. When I broke up with my ex, she was also happy, because although not abusive or anything, he was just a total dick that didn't put any effort in. Love often makes you blind, so friends will sometimes be happy that a person who didn't treat you right is gone. Also, just cause you're happy the relationship ended, doesn't mean you can't be compassionate and supportive.

The best friend was the one that did the breaking up, so chances are she thinks he's a knob too. No reason to assume that op was always badgering her to break up with him and now deserves to be heartbroken.
