Today, my 5 year-old informed me she likes her "other mummy" more and wants to live with her instead. I need to have a long conversation with my husband. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I explained to my 5 year old daughter that her older sister from my husband's first marriage lives with her mommy, and my daughter lives with us. She exclaimed, "It's not fair! I want two mommies like she has! Can we swap, I like her mommy better than you anyway!" FML
Today, my daughter told me that she liked her "other daddy" better. I don't know who's she talking about, but my wife is doing a good job telling her to be quiet. FML
Mystery man
Today, as I was taking my three year-old daughter home from daycare, she asked where her daddy was. I tried to tell her that I was her father, but she answered, "No, not you! My other daddy!" I've got some talking to do tonight. FML
So brave
Today, my five year-old had to break the news to me that my husband was leaving me for someone else. FML
Today, while driving my kids to school, my son said, "Why don't you find another place to live, so we can just live with daddy?" Then my daughter added, "Yeah, 'cause we LOVE Daddy." FML
Today, my five year old daughter asked me what a divorce was. When I asked why she wanted to know, she replied with "Daddy wants one. He says you can have me." FML
Too late
Today, my husband told me he'd changed his mind and no longer wants children. We already have two kids. FML
Mommy issues
Today, as I was picking up my 7 year-old daughter at my ex-husband's house, my daughter started crying saying that she wanted to stay with Daddy forever. I asked why. She said her stepmom was a better mommy. Apparently, the woman who broke up my marriage is now a better "Mommy." FML
Today, my daughter told me she wanted to divorce me. FML
Today, my four-year-old asked me when I was going to die. I replied "Not for a long time, why?" He looked at me and stated "Because I only want to live with Daddy." FML

I suppose we can blame the kids from South Park for that comment but I can't remember how old they're supposed to be.

Maybe she means something else, like an aunt or something, hopefully so, good luck OP.

Does she have any friends she spends time at their house? might view their friends mother as her other mommy.

At least she's cute? .... Better follow this up.

Honestly, there's so many ways this could go, a follow up is definitely needed.

could be a friends mom she just sees as another mother

there was another fml really similar to this recently and everyone said that maybe the "other mom" just spoiled your daughter and that's probably all it is. you probably have to act like bad cop more of the time unfortunately and your kid is too young to understand
Spark_Slicker 19
Nah, the problem is that OP is still with her kid's dad. So any "other" mom they have is more than likely her husband's secret mistress.

A 5 year old is more than old enough to understand that some person who spoils them isn't called a mom.

12, you're implying this guy is idiotic enough to invite his mistress home. and that she is idiotic enough to act like his kids' mom

37 - Maybe not specifically invite her into his home, but it is certainly not unheard of for people to introduce their children to their secret lovers. And just because she might not exactly say the words "I'm your mom", doesn't mean a 5 year old wouldn't consider her to be like one if she spends enough time around her and sees her with her father the way he is with her real mother. It's really not that far fetched.
