Today, is the blizzard. I have to go into work, my boss threatened to fire me if I didn't show up. I sent him a picture of the snow completely covering my car. He said I moved the snow there and could move it back. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got snowed in. At work. FML
Today, my boss texted me to say the office was closed because of the snow. I begged him to let me go in anyway because I had nothing to do all day. I have no life, friends or hobbies. FML
Today, a snow storm rolled into my small town, leaving my car stuck under 3 feet of snow. I called my boss to tell her I couldn't drive to work. Her reply? "Walk." FML
Stuck
Today, it was snowing really badly, so my boss said that everyone who drove to work could leave. But because I got the bus in, she said that I should stay and do a full day. By the time she eventually decided it was bad enough for me to leave, the buses were cancelled. FML
Today, I tried to get the day off because of snow and ice on the roads, which had already caused 2 accidents close to my house. My boss just called me a useless millennial, fired me, and hung up the phone. FML
Today, my boss tried to fire me for not emailing him a screenshot to prove my email wasn't working. FML
Shovel to the head
Today, I shoveled snow at work. I had to because my co-workers refused to "get sick." I told my co-workers if anyone needs me, just tell them I'm shoveling snow. Our boss asked for me and they said that I left without punching. This also happened when I went out to water the flowers in the summer. FML
Today, as I was driving to work in the aftermath of a terrible blizzard that came through my area last night, a lady slid through an intersection and hit my car, totaling it. I called my boss and told her what happened, only to have her tell me that we were closed due bad roads. No one told me. FML
Today, after getting up at 6 a.m., fighting with the dogs to wipe their paws off from the snow, and having to wait for a moving truck to move so I could get to work by 8, I got a call from my boss saying we were closed due to weather. It was 8:15. I was already there. FML
Today, I found out that my coworker shared a laugh with the boss about setting the office desk on fire (which he actually did), while ten minutes later I was threatened with being fired because I made paper snowflakes and hung a few of them next to the computer. FML

Idk if you are aware but if your state declares a state of emergency he/she cannot fire you for not showing up for work. Look it up to verify your state work laws during state emergencies. Good luck op.

Your boss is an ass. I don't think that it's right that work places don't have delays or closings like schools because adults are just as important as children are. If not more..

lol I find it funny how certain cities shut down over a little snow , we will get three feet of snow and not even cancel schools , still sucks for you your boss is a dick!

It majorly depends on the ability of the city to GET RID OF the snow. Somewhere like, say, Texas isn't gonna have much in the way of snow plows and road salting programs so things are gonna shut down quick. Also, it depends on the type of snow. If it's the dry little powder puffs, sure. whatever. However, my area gets snow but isn't cold enough to sustain it, leading to a ton of slush and black ice. it completely depends on the area.

I agree totally I live in snow capital Of the united states which is in Alaska with a range of 300" of snowfall a season. 3 feet doesn't seem like anything unless a city doesn't have a very good snow removal plan.

He's just being an asshole. If he fires you because of it, you can sue him for wrongful termination.

everyone wants to use people for everything

True but this is one of those times where it's totally acceptable to sue. You don't fire someone during a blizzard that keeps them from going anywhere. His boss is asking him to risk his life for his job. That's wrong.

You know if you didn't spend the time posting on FML you might have been done clearing the snow away from your car.

You are in Maine, not Atlanta. Get yer yankee ass to work!
pandalover69 26
Do you know where Maine is? It's way above Atlanta. In fact it's that state on the top right of a US map. Atlanta is part of the south. Learn geography before you post.

Stay at home and play some Starcraft. You sound like you could use some Blizzard entertainment.

Tell him you'll just report him to the labor department for wrongful termination
