Today, after getting up at 6 a.m., fighting with the dogs to wipe their paws off from the snow, and having to wait for a moving truck to move so I could get to work by 8, I got a call from my boss saying we were closed due to weather. It was 8:15. I was already there. FML

Today, I woke up at 5:15, snow blowed and salted the driveway for over an hour, left early and drove an hour on shitty roads just to get to work on time only to be laid off. FML
Today, I woke up at 5:30 and made the half hour drive to work only to find out that it was my day off. After finally getting back home and into bed, my boss called, requesting that I come back to work since I was "already up". FML
Today, I got snowed in. At work. FML
Today, it was snowing really badly, so my boss said that everyone who drove to work could leave. But because I got the bus in, she said that I should stay and do a full day. By the time she eventually decided it was bad enough for me to leave, the buses were cancelled. FML
Today, I was told to be at a job site bright and early. I woke up and pounded several body smashing drinks to get going. They then called to tell me work was canceled due to weather. It's 6am. I can’t get back to sleep. FML
Today, I showed up to work at 6am, only to find out the schedule was changed. I wasn't actually supposed to be there until 9:15. My boss never told me this. I didn't get to go home either, he just said, "Oh well. Get to work." FML
Today, I woke up at 3 a.m. to get ready for a "fun work retreat". After driving 2 hours to the site, I find that nobody's there. After about half an hour standing there freezing, I get an email from my boss, telling me that, "It's canceled due to bad weather." FML
Today, I got up at 4:30 am, went to my job as the newspaper guy. Nobody was there to open the door, it was raining and I was freezing. I decided to wait, because I really wanted my salary. At 6 o'clock my boss opens the door and says, "Oh, it's you. Well, you're fired. We can't pay you anymore." FML
Today, my boss texted me to say the office was closed because of the snow. I begged him to let me go in anyway because I had nothing to do all day. I have no life, friends or hobbies. FML
Today, wanting to be on time for my first job interview, I woke up at the crack of dawn and walked almost an hour through a thunderstorm. When I arrived, I was told that the manager wasn't in today, because of the bad weather. FML

Even though your boss could have called earlier or gave earlier notice, there's not much you can do except go home and rest up. Props to you though, sounds like youre a hard worker.

Do you get to work by 8 because that is when you are schedules or because that is when you always show up due to liking to get to work by a certain time to get to leave by a certain time. And were you the only one who showed up to work. or were other dejected souls leaving? It's FYL regardless, but the lever of it may differ depending on the answer to these question.. as it could be like the aggravation high school students get when they almost die getting school only to find out the county finally decided to close due the snow sometime during their commute.

Go sit in your boss's chair, light a fat cigar, put your feet on his desk and help yourself to the scotch he keeps in the lower-right drawer. Entertain yourself by yelling at imaginary employees, customers and suppliers and saying disgusting things to the imaginary secretary. Have fun with it!

everyone's hours are the same. But we were told two days prior that we were closed the day before, and that we needed to be in at 8am to shovel snow so we could open. And no others were there too, so it was just like, you have ways of getting the weather, you could've called earlier or the day before.
