Today, in break from tradition, I proposed to my boyfriend. We were at a Japanese Pagoda. Water was trickling everywhere; the moment was perfect. While I was on my knee, after pouring my heart out, he looked wistfully out over the water and said, "So, I was thinking pizza tonight." FML

Today, I decided to pop the question to my beloved. Perfect lighting, fresh cut roses, a fancy dinner. The restaurant was in on it too. Shame they brought out the wedding-themed congratulations dessert before I actually went down on my knee. FML
Today, I was going to break up with my boyfriend after we went out for dinner. To my surprise, our families were also in the restaurant, to witness him propose to me. FML
Today, my boyfriend of three years proposed to me. He brought me to our favorite restaurant and ordered expensive champagne. It was all very romantic, until he got on one knee and I farted out of surprise. Loudly. FML
Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 3 years. I got reservations for a romantic dinner, and at the end, fireworks would spell out my proposal. The whole thing had taken weeks to plan out and had cost me a lot of money. She proposed to me at a subway station first. FML
Today, I was on a date with my boyfriend when he suddenly got down on one knee and proposed. A waiter tripped over him and spilled our food all over him. FML
Today, at a romantic dinner my boyfriend was treating me to, the waiter brought a "Will you marry me?" cake out, with candles and sparklers. I probably should have checked that they'd brought it to the right table before dramatically screaming ,"Yes!" and jumping into my boyfriend's arms. They hadn't. FML
Today, I took my girlfriend of three years on a romantic picnic to the park, so I could propose to her. The moment was just right, I made my move. I knelt down on one knee and asked her. Her response was "you're kneeling in dog poop." I looked down. She was right. FML
Today, at a restaurant, I happily watched as my boyfriend of three years got down on his knees and proposed to me. Before I could say yes and hug him, a girl flung herself at him, kissed him and shouted, "Yes!" With us still highly confused, she then ran away. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me at dinner, which would’ve been nice if we hadn’t been dating for only two months, and dinner was at Subway. FML

And some people have decided it's an outdated tradition and that it's okay for the woman to propose rather than waiting around forever for the guy to propose. Strange, I know.

My boyfriend turned me down with at least a "I'm not ready for that yet, but I am serious about you," when I tried. A few months later he did propose to me, though. I guess it's a lot easier when you have a good idea what the answer will be... Maybe you'll have the same luck (if you still want him, that is...) Really sucky that your guy couldn't at least pull together a respectful answer.

I know that not everyone likes tradition but most guys don't like when you take take on traditional roles they handle. Most importantly though, if he hasn't asked you it's because he's not ready. Asking him takes you out if the feminine role and won't get you desired results. You shouldn't even have to ask. He's supposed to want to take you off the market. If he hasn't then maybe you're not the one and wasting your time.

I'm not sure I understand how you know what most guys want. Getting married should be a joint decision. The only problem I see here is that she probably didn't really know if he wanted to or not. If both are cool with marriage, I don't see what the woman has to wait for the guy to ask.

Well, at least he stayed. You proposed so I'm assuming you are sane and had discussed marriage with him previously. He probably had his own way of proposing in mind and hopefully he'll be ready soon. Hang in there op!

Give him time to apologise, if you get no apology have a serious talk, seems he isn't ready for marriage but that is no reason for him to be so hurtful about it. He is selfish op, I'm sorry. :(
