Today, in addition to having to deal with chronic pain that keeps me from driving for more than 10 minutes, I now have to deal with my brother who thinks I'm not paying him enough for taking me to school 2 days a week, when he does the journeys for himself anyway. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my brother got a job as an Uber driver. Now, whenever I need a ride from him, he insists I pay him money through the app. FML
Today, I returned home from a 2-day trip. Before I left, I told my brother to move my car across the street when the street cleaner passes by. Turns out, he used all my gas and got so wasted he forgot to move my car. I got a big ticket that he said he'd pay for. He's unemployed and lives off me. FML
Today, my brother who routinely marred my life by stealing from me, fighting me, and isolating me from my own family, made his hollow AA apology to me so he'll feel better. My parents employ him, bought his car and house, and pay his insurance. I've been in poverty. FML
Today, my mom let my younger brother borrow my car. He managed to crash it through the garage door. While I was in another country. Somehow, I manage to get berated by my mom because I'm not doing enough to make my brother feel better about him having an accident involving my car and my house. FML
Today, after I just finished a 16-hour double shift, my brother asked me to ride with him to do an Instacart. While delivering these people’s groceries, his car overheated and oil light came on. He had no money, so I had to fix and pay for the parts. FML
Today, my car wouldn't start, so I had to wait for AAA. Then, hurrying to pick up my brother, I got a $161 speeding ticket. Twenty minutes later, I got a call from him saying he didn't need a ride anymore. FML
Today, I am so sick and tired of watching my brother get everything he wants in life from being a bastard. He does everything I would consider bad and it’s made him rich and successful. I try and be a good person and all it got me is fired, and in danger of losing my car and house. FML
Today, after my at-the-time partner got in a car wreck with minimal injuries, I drove two hours and got a week off classes to take care of them on hand and foot, they are currently my platonic roommate and I nearly broke my foot… and they keep acting annoyed when I ask for something because I can't walk. FML
Today, while at work at a new job, my brother comes and takes my car. Along with all my money, my phone, and whatever else I had in my purse. His message to me through one of my co-workers was "walk home." FML
Today, not only did my deadbeat brother mooch off me for six months, wreck my car, and screw my wife, he just successfully sued me for the medical bills he incurred when I caught them and beat him within an inch of his life. Twelve fucking grand in debt. I should have just stabbed him. FML

I'd say it's a bit trickier than that. Yeah, theoretically, they're both in the car, so 50/50 isn't necessarily an unfair split, but then again the brother is driving there regardless of the OP, so he would be paying x amount for it anyway, so whatever he gets from the OP is already extra savings for him. Plus it's his family and it's not like it's excessive (twice a week when he's going that way anyway). I would appreciate a little something in that situation to even it, but I wouldn't necessarily expect it. I certainly wouldn't make a drama out of not being paid enough. It's not like I'd be going out of my way or doing something I wouldn't be doing anyway.

So you are driving age. You can drive, but not for long. Your brother is being gracious enough to drive you there. Frankly you should be paying gas 50/50...

Yeah, theoretically, they're both in the car, so 50/50 isn't necessarily an unfair split, but then again the brother is driving there regardless of the OP, so he would be paying x amount for it anyway, so whatever he gets from the OP is already extra savings for him. Can you not read? They can't drive for more than 10 minutes due to chronic pain. So no, they're not choosing not to drive. And the brother drives there anyway, and was already getting fuel money. 🤦🏽♀️🙄

I feel for you and pray you get well soon. Your brother is a jerk for not being as understanding and empathetic as much as he should be. Maybe have a heart to heart with him about the situation?
