Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I discovered that my dishwasher has a filter. I cleaned out food from it that has never been in my kitchen since I moved in. FML
Today, I figured out it's the first time my roommate has done the dishes after living together an entire year, but I got to clean up the bubble waterfall that came pouring out of the dishwasher because she couldn't figure out where the detergent was supposed to go. FML
Today, I noticed a thick layer of mold growing inside the straw of my water bottle. I use that bottle every day. FML
Today, I walked out the bathroom and saw my girlfriend peeing in a mug. She said that's the mug she uses when she can't hold it anymore. That's the mug I put my coffee in every morning. FML
Today, I had made a cup of my favorite coffee, which I had recently found to be discontinued. To accompany this last cup, I went to get a muffin. As I turned around, I see my son pouring the cup out because I out put it next to the sink and he thought it was dirty. FML
Today, I found out the little blue thing that my roommate has been sterilizing by boiling in our shared coffee maker, is a menstrual cup. FML
Today, I was washing a stainless steel pot at my kitchen job. Every time I pulled it out of the dishwasher and examined it for dirt, I saw something orange inside it. After 3 run-throughs, I realized it was just my shirt's reflection. FML
Today, while washing dishes for my friend, I managed to break an unbreakable glass and slice my hand open on it. FML
Today, it was my turn to do the suite's dishes. I was in the process of drying my roommate's coffee mug when the handle suddenly snapped off and the sharp edge left on the mug scraped down my arm. I now have a 3-inch long gash in my arm. I was attacked by a cheap coffee mug. FML
Today, after finishing my second glass of wine, I walked out of the bathroom and saw the tag on my hair dryer from last year's rehab visit. FML

A year? Hand washing a coffee mug should only take a minute or two. What kind of crazy germaphobe are you that you'll wash something for a year?!?!

At least it wasn't the other way around. Still, it's worth taking time to read the directions.

If you can pour boiling water in it then it can be washed in the dishwasher. Coffee mugs are inherently dishwasher safe. js

Not all of them. I once put in the dishwasher a coffee mug with a pretty cherry tree design that sprouts flowers when you pour a hot beverage in it. Half the tree folded on the other half, and the flowers transformed into little balls of gunk. Now I have a coffee mug with a heart that reddens when you put a hot beverage in it, and you can be sure that I hand wash this sucker.

FML, because washing a coffee cup is so tedious. Shoot, I probably wash my coffee cup once a year.

You mean there are mugs that are not dishwasher safe?
