Today, I went to go get a new ID because my wallet was stolen, which had my social security card in it as well. I found out that to get your ID you have to have your social security card, and to get your social security card, you need your ID. FML

Today, I was told I can't renew my Identity Card without a Social Security Card, and I can't get a replacement Social Security Card without an Identity Card. FML
Today, my wallet got stolen. I don't have a photo ID to get a temporary debit card, and since I don't have a debit card, I can't go to the DMV to get a new license. FML
Today, after 3 months of job hunting, I finally got a job. But now my birth certificate and social security card are somehow lost, and I can't start until I let them see a copy. FML
Today, I bought a replacement ID after weeks looking for my old one and not finding it. When I got home, my brother said he'd found my ID. FML
Today, my wallet got stolen. I had a bunch of cash, my SS card and my license in it. Now I have to replace everything, only to have to renew my license again when I turn 21 in June. FML
Today, I got a change of ID. My old ID had its corner cut off and was given a temporary paper ID. I went to a bar in another town to have some drinks. Turns out I couldn't because they couldn't use my old ID or my temporary one to let me drink, even though I'm 22. I've been there before and I work at my town's liquor store. FML
Today, I misplaced my wallet. Fortunately, I knew exactly where it was. Unfortunately, I had just taken out the only form of picture ID that morning. I couldn't stop the finders from laughing as they saw my fake celebrity entertainment ID while I tried to convince them it was actually my wallet. FML
Today, I went to go get my driver's license, only to be told that I need a copy of my birth certificate. In order to get the copy of my birth certificate, I need a driver's license or my passport. In order to get a passport, I need a copy of my birth certificate or a drivers license. I have none. FML
Today, I had gone to the store and bought a new wallet. 5 minutes later a security guard asks for my receipt. Turns out I had dropped my receipt. Some guy had picked it up and pretended I had stole his wallet. The guard confiscated my wallet because the guy had "his" receipt to prove it. FML
Today, I found a wallet containing an ID card. I managed to track down the owner, who now is threatening to call the police if I don't return the 400 dollars that he insists were also in it. FML

um no thats not how it works. u apply for a duplicate. u need to know ur ssn but dnt need ur card. and to #59 it says on the thing its attached to 'keep in wallet or purse"...so ppl who read directions carry it around

Yes, but still, it's unwise to carry around any vital records like that. You should memorize your number and then put your card somewhere safe.

And actually, to get your ID you just need a "primary" form of identification - an old DL, a passport, or your SS Card and birth certificate. Since you have to send off your birth certificate and didn't have your SS card or DL, and you're waiting on a passport, THAT'S why you can't get a new one. Yeah, it sucks to not have a DL for a couple months while you wait on your passport. And #65, the new SS cards do NOT say to keep it in your wallet or purse...if you have a newer one, check it. My husband's is old and says to, but my new one actually instructs the opposite.

That sucks, but YDI. Seriously, they even warn you when you /get/ a SIN number to keep it in a safe place and not carry it with you in your wallet. And there is no reason why all your ID should be in your wallet. If you aren't bright enough to keep this stuff somewhere safe at home when you've even been told to do so, it's hard to feel sorry for you.
