Today, I found a wallet containing an ID card. I managed to track down the owner, who now is threatening to call the police if I don't return the 400 dollars that he insists were also in it. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
No good deed and all that
Today, I found a wallet on the sidewalk and spent an hour tracking down the owner. When I finally returned it, he opened it, counted the cash in front of me, and asked if I was sure there hadn't been more money in it. FML
It wasn't me
Today, I found a wallet on the train. I called the owner, who said he would come around and pick it up. When he finally did, he looked inside and screamed that his money was missing, and that I was a dirty thief. I never took a cent. He's filing theft charges against me. FML
Today, I had gone to the store and bought a new wallet. 5 minutes later a security guard asks for my receipt. Turns out I had dropped my receipt. Some guy had picked it up and pretended I had stole his wallet. The guard confiscated my wallet because the guy had "his" receipt to prove it. FML
Cheers
Today, I found a wallet belonging to some guy, it had $355 inside. Because he had his address written inside, I decided to return it, hoping for a reward. I drove for 40 minutes and finally got to his house during peak hour. All he did was say, "Oh, cool." FML
I did everything right and…
Today, I found a wallet on the sidewalk and tracked down the owner through social media. They thanked me, met me to pick it up, opened it, and immediately asked where the $20 bill had gone. There had never been a $20 bill. FML
Today, while at the mall, a lady dropped her credit card while in line to buy something. I came over, picked it up and gave it to her just for her to shove it in my hand and scream, "She's stealing my wallet! My wallet!" The police came. FML
Today, I found out that someone found my lost library card, and instead of returning it, took out multiple items. If they don't return them, I'm on the hook to paying over $100 for them. FML
Minus one Karma
Today, I lost my wallet while out shopping. Panicked, I retraced my steps and found it at a store, turned in by an employee. Grateful, I opened it to find a note that read, "We left the money but took one dollar for karma." I checked. They did actually take one dollar. FML
Today, the police called because someone had turned in my wallet that was stolen. I happily drove home only to find that my house had been robbed and ransacked. FML
Today, I misplaced my wallet. Fortunately, I knew exactly where it was. Unfortunately, I had just taken out the only form of picture ID that morning. I couldn't stop the finders from laughing as they saw my fake celebrity entertainment ID while I tried to convince them it was actually my wallet. FML

I highly doubt he said thank you if he is now threatening legal action.

mnmolino 14

#84 I assume your talking to me?....on another note: Good god man did you take an English course in your life? I had to read that dribble twice to piece together what you were talking about. I'm going to assume that you do not have an iPhone and therefore do not know that it does not auto refresh fml comment threads. To explain further I simply forgot to refresh the thread before commenting.

90- I don't think his first language is English, so don't go being rude about that.

Is it just me or does Keev almost always post comments that get down-voted? So annoying.
pyromania21 0
tell him it was ur reward for returning his wallet without running up his credit cards
HahaHokayThen 10
He has no case or proof that you stole the money. Don't worry, OP (:

That's why if you see something like that on the ground..keep walking...there's people out there who are arseholes....he can retrace his steps and find it.

People really don't need to be on FML. i.e 84.

Now now.. Everyone has rights to access fml's and comment, given they have an account, and it's not up to people like you to say if they do/don't. Keev usually has some good comments as I have noticed several times, but does have his off days. On topic as well, people can be grateful and ungrateful.. Found a wallet with a grand sitting in it, and returned it to the owner, whom shortly after drove off without a thank you, reward, or even a goodbye.

Lol. When I was in eighth grade, I was walking home with a friend of the same age when he opened his wallet to get something. He had 5 $100 bills in there. The $500 were real, not fake.

Christ Almighty! It's like everyone left an anger management class and ran into a bunch of Hippies. One side is spitting fire, while the other is trying to smooth out an already boiled over situation, and at the same time there's little quips thrown in. Then again this is the other reason we all come on FML. To read the comments on the FML's be them funny, ridiculous, weird, or slightly meaningful. I think this falls into the cluster **** category though. To OP, just goes to show that the world isn't all "sunshines and gumdrops". Hope things get worked out for the better. Merry Christmas everyone!

Why is everyone thumbing keev down. He just told the other guy that the comment was there already. He wasn't rude or anything like that. He just pointed that out. Keev even said that he was sorry. Reaganomics was being rude for no reason at all and yet he still gets a thumbs up. I also think that its sad that he made fun of his english. At least he put time and effort into learning the language and I understood everyting he said. @Gween. you can usually find this out by clicking on their profile. Just read what it says after town. @ Op. At least you did the right thing. Let him call the police. You didn't do it and I don't think that anyone would believe that you took the money, and then decided to return the wallet.

He should be happy about getting his ID back and that a person nice enough has gien it back!! Some ppl can take it O.o
muzy 23
Don't worry op. All you have to say to the owner is "good luck convincing the judge." The owner will most likely say something along the lines of knowing that there were $400 in that wallet upon which you shall reply "WELL IT'S NOT WHAT KNOW, IT'S WHAT YOU CAN PROVE IN COURT!"
AyeTee77 18
OP didn't say there wasn't $400 in the wallet. OP just doesn't want to give it back. Thief!
DropTheDaggerxx 31
181- Then the guy with the missing $400 can go batshit insane and kill everyone involved in gruesome, ingenious ways only to be killed himself by OP?
21jason 9
Oh shame on you for doing the right thing.. Because I guess it is your fault he lost HIS wallet
Jakesterk96 8
Is it me or are you adding a "0" to the $400 each time you mention it?

He has no way to prove the money was in there so if u didn't take it don't worry and if u did please return it. It's the holidays
ChaeRi 3
It's kinda obvious that OP didnt take the money LOL. I mean, then why on earth would this be on FML?
massacreman3000 1
burden of proof for civil cases is on the defense.
Minx108 12
Um no its not, the burden of proof is on the plaintiff..
lizh_fml 9
No, its not.

This was in Sweden, so yea, it probably is guilty until proven innocent there.
wisese 0
Sweden is a very civilized country, not to mention home of the Nobel Peace Prize. I highly doubt it's guilty until proven innocent there.

diidiimi 10
If it was in Sweden, there's every likelihood that if the list wallet guy does go to the cops, they'll just laugh at him. On the other hand, I agree that if OP did actually take the money he should return it. Although I don't believe that he did.
noobcake111 2
Wow that guy is a douche, FYL.
Awahso 25
They won't do that lol
perdix 31
You should have just tossed it in a mailbox and let the postal service figure it out. So, what did you get with the $400? An Xbox, or hookers and beer?
BeefyQueef 5
I'd get all three!
flockz 20
hookers for $400? where!? i thought i was getting a bargain with Whalefeniqua for $900!
mnmolino 14
I'd choose the hookers! If I want an x-box I'll just go over to my friend's house, he has two
KiddNYC1O 22
4 of the best hookers in Amsterdam and a doobie.
conniejoy529 10
i hope you saved enough to buy some antibiotics you would need it if you are also buying a hooker
Monkeybuttcream 4
Dude, seriously, just give him the 400 bucks back. It's not funny anymore.
gaysunshine 8
No I think he's saying that OP DIDN'T take the money and the man he gave the wallet back to thinks he stole his money
