Today, I went into labor with my first child, and as much as I pleaded, I had to wait for my husband to finish his raid in World of Warcraft before he'd take me to the hospital. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went into labor and got my husband drive me to the hospital. Instead of staying by my side, he rushed back home for a World of Warcraft raid. His excuse? His friends were counting on him and they'd be pissed if he let them down. FML
Today, during the birth of my first child, my epidural didn't work. FML
Today, I gave birth to a baby girl. Where was my husband after the agony finally ended? Standing just outside the room, flirting with a nurse. FML
Today, I gave birth to my first son. He was 11 pounds and the labour lasted 22 hours. My husband was absent for 8 of those hours because he slipped when my water broke, cracked his head, and ended up in the ER next door. FML
Get out
Today, I gave birth to my firstborn child. Somehow, my mom and mother-in-law made their way to the delivery room, and walked in mid-push. While they were escorted out, I overheard my mother-in-law asking the nurse how her son, my husband, was holding up. FML
Ambulances ain't cheap
Today, I went into labor, and my husband wasn't answering his phone. I called my sister to ask her to drive me to the hospital but she said she'd only do it if I paid her $1000. I had to dial 911, and almost gave birth in my bathroom in process. FML
Family portrait
Today, I gave birth, but my husband was late and got here just in time to cut the cord. He was hung over after celebrating his impending fatherhood all night. He missed the cord twice, cut it, then fell over, and wound up in the bed next to mine, with a hydrating IV and a bashed head where he hit it on the baby's cot. FML
Game on
Today, I realized that my husband has a video games addiction. I am currently pregnant; he brought us to the same country he's in so we can finally live together, only for me to witness him being glued to his laptop all day and all night playing WoW. He's forgotten I even existed. FML
Today, my wife's water broke so I drove her to the hospital. After 16 hours without labor, I went home to get a little sleep. Four hours later I got the call and ran outside to find that my car was towed from my parking space. FML
Today, I had to explain to my son that his dad was too busy in a raid on World of Warcraft to be at his award ceremony. FML

Docs comment wins! OP, as Im sure you found out by now, first children take a while to get here.. Im not excusing your husbands behavior BY ANY MEANS but chances are that baby wasn't going to pop out in 5 minutes lol I was in active labor for 21 hours before the dr stopped playing god and gave me a c section. Laboring at home is so much better anyway..

That was YOUR experience. It is not always true that the first child takes a long time to come. You don't know what OP's situation was and can't make assumptions that her labor was the same as yours.

My mom was only in labor with me for 4 hours, I think thats what she said, and I was the first. She was with my sister for over 10 hours, though. I know it's still a long time, but show it varies.

Wow, did anyone else know what happens to #25 must be fact for the rest of us? Just FYI I was a first child and was born 5 hours after my mothers FIRST labor pain. Several of my buddies are having children now and all of their labors differed.

DocBastard I always look forward to your comments. That made me laugh so much! OP: You should have done something besides plead. You should have stood in front of the computer and yelled at him or something. Or unplugged the computer. FYL though.

You know, normally I try not ot comment on these things, but this one pisses me off just reading it. Your husband is a big loser and I'd divorce him. Labor is no easy task, you HAVE to get to the hospital. And he's too busy on a stupid game like WoW (it literally draws people in and sucks the life and sense out of them) to take you? Just...ugh, I'd smash his computer or something. Next time he wants something say you're busy. Or better yet, divorce his stupid ass.

I play WoW, and I still have the "life & sense" to hold down a full time job and spend time with my family. You are basing your opinion of a game by the most extreme examples of people who get carried away with it.

That being said (I ran out of room above), OP's husband is a serious jackass, and she needs to leave him. There is no reason to make her wait till he "finishes his raid" to go to the hospital, and I hope this event opens her eyes that she married a loser.

Women gave birth long before there were hospitals and many still choose to do so at home. Modern medicine has turned pregnancy and childbirth into an illness when, for the most part, it's not. Granted, the husband was a jackass and should have gone when asked.

He should have just DPSed her stomach until the baby came out. Then DPS the baby to start hardmode. Dunno if his raid has the numbers to beat your enrage timer or the police adds, though.
