Today, I went camping with my husband not too far from our house. We got our tent pitched up, stove ready and roll-out bed out. He then said, "I'm just gonna go for a walk." It had been about an hour before I decided to go find him. He had walked home to play CoD. FML
Today, on my and my wife's very first camping holiday, someone cut a hole in the tent wall while we slept and stole everything, including my keys and the car. Finally getting home, it seems the thieves got our address from the car's sat-nav and burgled the house as well. FML
Today, we drove six hours to get to our holiday cottage only to realise that my girlfriend had forgotten her suitcase. This put her in a bad mood, so she made ME drive six hours back to her flat to get it, then when I got there, I realised HER keys to HER FLAT were still in HER handbag six hours back at the cottage. FML
Today, I haven’t been camping since I was a kid. I decided to give it another shot. I bought all the best equipment, researched all the great locations, planned a whole weekend. Turns out I still fucking hate camping and now I’m out over $400. FML
Today, my fiancé forgot his wallet. He realized this once we were 5 hours away from home, before checking into a hotel, that had reservations under his name. FML
Today, I had to drive 300 miles to a town where I thought I'd forgotten my purse the night before. When I got to the hotel I had been staying at, I found out it was actually in the trunk of my car. FML
Today, I went camping. My tent is flooded, a raccoon ate all my food, I lost the anchor to my boat which as a result is now across the lake. Three more days. FML
Today, my friends and I went camping. In the middle of the night, they carried me deep into the forest and left me there. I stepped on a beehive as I walked back to the tent. FML
Today, my friends and I finished a 2 day, 40km bush walk. We parked a car at the finish of the track and drove another car to the start, so we could drive back and pick it up when we finished. At the end of the trek, I realised I had left the keys for the second car in the first car. FML
Today, I went camping with my boyfriend. We were sleeping on a small slope. He got so drunk he peed in his sleep. I was downhill. FML

Eleven hours? Damn that is major fail. Hopefully the nearest store that sells camping gear isn't too far off.

And continuing the Australia thoughts, I doubt theyre going camping in a city. An 11 hour drive anywhere, in whatever direction I'm sure would land you nowhere near a Walmart or any other type of store, besides a fuel station at best.

I have never been to a walmart so I guess there is none near or in California; San Francisco, menlo park, woodside, palto alto, San Jose, Los altos, red wood city or any city near! so prove how there taking over te world cause I definatley do not believe that I think star bucks has.

pretty sure that seeing as the OP's from Australia, the closest Wal-Mart is tens of thousands of miles away in the US. Also pretty sure that if they drove 11 hours for a camping site, there are probably NO towns or department stores within easy driving distance.

Wow you must think cabins are also best for camping too right? The camping isn't all in the tent, I rather go hiking, swimming, fishing, and other camping activities then sit in a tent and do nothing or play cards. I can do nothing at home.
