Today, I was walking home with my boyfriend. There's a short cut to my house by jumping a fence but he insisted that we take the long way because, "Girls don't jump fences." To prove him wrong, I jumped the fence. I fell and broke my leg. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Like tears in rain
Today, while I was on a walk, I saw my boyfriend; since it was raining, I thought it would be romantic to run up to him and kiss him. I ended up breaking his arm because I knocked him over. FML
Today, I broke my leg while trying to show my friend how I broke my other leg. FML
Skittish
Today, while walking home with my girlfriend we decided to take a shortcut in the woods. After hearing a huge noise, she pushed me and ran. FML
Parkour!
Today, a friend and I attempted to jump the 7-foot high fence around his gated community because he'd left his keys. He made it. I didn’t. My shorts caught on the top of the fence, so I was forced to dangle there on a busy street until my Dad came and helped. But only after taking a picture. FML
Today, while on the roof of my friend's house, I took a shortcut down by jumping onto the roof of his nearby shed. Not only did I go right through it and hurt my arm, I've also received several calls from my friend's dad, demanding I pay for the damage. FML
Today, I was visiting my girlfriend at her house. We heard the door bell ring. She told me to jump out the window thinking it was her dad. I jumped, landed wrong, and got hurt. It turns out we were ding-dong-ditched. FML
Today, I came home to find my little sister had decided to play hopscotch under our carport. Feeling a small childish urge, I decided to hop on one leg to the front door. I tripped and fell, slicing my knee open. FML
Agony
Today, I fell down the stairs and landed heavily on my foot. Because I wasn't crying, my mom refused to take me to the hospital. It took me an hour of agony to convince her. It turned out to be broken in three different places. FML
Today, I fell down a set of stairs while going into my basement. With a horrible pain in my left leg, I called out to my boyfriend to help me. Apparently a commercial about grass was more important. FML
Today, my ex-boyfriend came over to visit. Being nice, I let him walk down the stairs first, following after him. I still managed to reach the bottom before he did; after taking one step, I lost my footing and fell all the way down, scraping the skin off my arms and legs, and bruising my butt. FML

well, you technically jumped the fence, bravo!

Your boyfriend might've just wanted to spend more time with you by taking the long way! I would've done what he suggested, because it would've been more fun, and you wouldn't have broken your leg haha :P

He was probably just trying to be chivalrous by not making you jump over a fence.

FYL for apparently dating a guy with outdated gender ideas. YDI for failing when you tried to prove him wrong :v

That's all kinds of fail. Sorry you hurt yourself, but don't be so stupid next time!

what he meant to say was "girls don't jump fences without getting hurt".

It sucks you broke your leg and it sucks even worse that your boyfriend is an idiot.

"What's the matter, [boyfriend's name]? Never taken a shortcut before?" Your FML plays out in my head like a certain scene from Shaun of the Dead. You may find it hits a little closer to home than it would for most people. If your boyfriend's name is David, it will be slightly scary. Also, surely the "can't jump fences" brigade may be more evenly divided between boys and girls than your boyfriend may think.

Maybe he just wanted to do the gentleman-like thing...
