Today, while visiting my son at university, I noticed a funky smell in his room. He admitted to not changing his bedsheets since he moved in 2.5 years ago. I’ve raised an animal. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Ewwww, dude
Today, I visited my son at his university accommodations and noticed he's clearly never cleaned it since he moved in two years ago. I tried cleaning it myself, but gave up entirely when I found what looked like mushrooms growing out of an old takeout container. FML
Clean your room
Today, I told my boyfriend he needed to wash his sheets more often after I discovered the same wet spot from the last time I slept over. He shrugged and said, “What’s the big deal babe? It’s your spot.” It’s been over two weeks. FML
Roommate from hell
Today, after I had the place to myself for a while and it was easy to clean, my roommate returned and I woke up to trash piling up, dishes everywhere, and luggage full of sweaty laundry. Oh, and it smells like poo again, because he doesn't regularly shower. I want to scream. FML
The trail
Today, I was wondering why my home smelled so weird, until I found out that my 4 year old son had been secretly scattering around food he didn't like to eat throughout the house. How did I find out? No one else in this family leaves half eaten spinach all over my underwear drawer. FML
Today, my roommate and I noticed a foul smell in our apartment. After looking around for a little while, I found that her cat had pooped on a pair of my jeans, and apparently tried to cover it up by dragging a shirt over the mess. FML
Mystery solved
Today, I finally found out what the weird sour smell that's been in my dorm room for a while is. My roommate's sweat. FML
Dank
Today, I woke up to a weird smell in my apartment. I checked everywhere but couldn’t find the source. After a while, I discovered the smell was coming from the pile of laundry I'd left in the corner, laundry that I thought was clean. It was the gym clothes I'd thrown in there three weeks ago. FML
Grow up
Today, I cleaned my 21 year-old son's bedroom from top to bottom. When he got home from work all he could do was complain that the clothes that were on his "floordrobe"’ were "only worn once." This was my only day off, so why do I bother? FML
Today, I finally found where the awful lingering stench in my house was coming from. My son thought it would be funny to piss in the baby's humidifier. He's 16. FML
Today, my son found a cockroach in his bed. I had to kill the thing and wash all his sheets and stuffed animals before he'd finally agree to go back to bed, three hours later. FML

I pity his roommate.

Think of all the water and electricity he has saved by refraining from planet-destroying laundry!

Did you skip the lesson on Washing Machines? If so, it's your fault... If not, you raised a cretin

I'm pretty sure the son knows how to wash his own sheets. He knows his sheets smells, he knows where the laundry room is, and he should knows how to use a washer. Can't blame parents for their adult children not knowing how to do simple things.

I see you around a lot. Usually I see witty comments from you. This one though... Not your best work. It's like you were looking for a way to blame the parent.

Unfortunately, basic life skills aren't being taught or worse the person never figures it out on their own. Like cooking for yourself or doing your laundry. The expectation you are going to be taught everything is bad, sometimes you have to ask otherwise, they assume you picked it up along the way. Even if you were never taught how the number of how to's available online is staggering. There really isn't a reason for not knowing basic life skills now.

Must be single. No girlfriend or boyfriend would let their special someone get away with that.

Oh he knows how to do laundry because he said himself that his bedsheets smell because he hasn't washed them. The thing I want to know is why did he not wash them? No time? Laziness? Or his friends telling him it's a womans job? Probably laziness, but you never know.

Weigh the bedsheets before washing it. It would be interesting to know how much of your son's dead skin he shedded in 2.5 years.

Not nearly as much as the mattress myth would have you believe.

I've heard of someone being an animal in the sheets but this isn't how I imagined it.
