Today, I was very sick with a stomach virus, so I went to the only doctor's office open on Sundays. Even though I was feeling like a pile of shit, I waited for a woman who was walking in behind me to hold the door open for her. She was the last patient they could take for the day. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, after I've been nauseous for a week straight, barely eating or sleeping, I was going to see my doctor. She then called in sick and I can't get an appointment for another week. FML
Today, I had a doctor's appointment. I arrived early so I could check in with the receptionists about this weird communication mixup that's caused me to miss my last two appointments. Despite what my appointment card said, I arrived to find the office closed. FML
Today, I was sick, so I went into work to see if I could get my shift covered, instead of just calling in. I ended up working an extra hour. FML
Today, I was sick, so I emailed my co-workers with a list of my hours, asking if anyone would be willing to cover them for me. I only got one hour covered, and that was during a day I don't even work. FML
What do you mean, lady?
Today, I went to the doctor's office for an appointment. After waiting for ages, I asked the receptionist what the delay was. Apparently, I had no standing appointment today. This is coming from the same receptionist who checked me in nearly two hours ago. FML
Today, I went to the hospital due to extreme sickness. My boyfriend saw this as an opportune time to take another girl out since I was "otherwise preoccupied." FML
The longest monologue
Today, I was waiting in a doctor's office when I was approached by an elderly woman. She told me all about the ripping of her stitches in a very private place, in exhaustive detail. Of course, today was the day my doctor chose to be an hour late. FML
Today, after I've been sick all week, but still coming in to work (I'm not contagious) because I know that we're short staffed, I sucked it up and came in again, only to find out 3 other employees called in because they're hungover. Now I have to do my job and theirs. FML
Thank you for your service
Today, I've been horribly sick with a stomach virus. Six hours ago, I asked my husband to go to the store and get me a few things that would help ease my misery. He's still in bed and I'm cleaning the house in between bouts of vomiting. FML
Today, after checking in and waiting for three hours to see the doctor, the receptionist said she forgot about me because she didn't see me. She asked me to come back tomorrow. I was sitting right in front of her. FML

I'm a woman and I hold doors open for other people.... it has nothing to do with gender, people do it because its nice. Also, doctors can't do anything for viruses so they would have told you to get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids, etc. So really she saved you from paying for a doctor's visit needlessly ;)

the BRAT diet will bind your stools--bananas, rice, apples, and toast. Lots of fluids and get to the ER ASAP if you're dehydrated.

Why go to the doctor's office at all when you have a stomach virus? You apparently already know what's wrong and it's not like they'll give you a magic pill and everything will be better... You'd be wasting other people's time. But, I do think it's ridiculous for them to just tell you the other lady was the last patient they would help. They're doctors, for crying out loud! If they wanted to close for the day they should've locked the door...

maybe they wanted to put their mind at rest or felt it was serious enough to go to the docs, on saying that i do agree with you that going to the docs when you already know what you have is a bit of a waste of time.

#10, depending how bad it is, if she's throwing up lots, they can giv her a prescription anti nausea thing to allow her to eat again. but chances are they'd probs test to c if it's a virus/bug... so she'd have a blood test... (depending how good the doc is).. otherwise tell her to rest relax take panadol etc etc... and/or write out a script for antibiotocs incase it's not viral. so if I was feeling that shitty, I'd want my doc appointment.

and prescribing antibiotics like that is exactly how we get things like MRSA, folks. scrip happy doctors *mumbles*

Not sure if I 100% believe this happened as I can't imagine a doctors office turning away a person who is obviously sick right in front of them. But just on the off chance that it is I clicked FML because DAMN that really sucks! I hope it is fake!

you shouldn't have been nice, you should've just slammed the door in her face and ran to the desk (:
