Today, I had a doctor's appointment. I arrived early so I could check in with the receptionists about this weird communication mixup that's caused me to miss my last two appointments. Despite what my appointment card said, I arrived to find the office closed. FML

Today, I went to the doctor's office for an appointment. After waiting for ages, I asked the receptionist what the delay was. Apparently, I had no standing appointment today. This is coming from the same receptionist who checked me in nearly two hours ago. FML
Today, I left work early because I had a doctor's appointment. After sitting in the waiting room for twenty minutes, I realized I was at my old doctor's office. My actual appointment was across town. I was already late. FML
Today, I walked into what I thought was my doctor’s new office building for my appointment. I sat down, only to realize five minutes later that I was sitting in a small conference room where they were holding a staff meeting, and not the waiting room I thought it was. I had to wait for the doctor's receptionist to come get me. FML
Today, after checking in and waiting for three hours to see the doctor, the receptionist said she forgot about me because she didn't see me. She asked me to come back tomorrow. I was sitting right in front of her. FML
Today, I left work early because I had a dentist appointment. I got to the clinic, checked in, and sat down. Ten minutes later, the receptionist asked why I was there. My appointment is next Wednesday. I had taken the afternoon off for nothing. FML
Today, I had two different doctor's appointments with different specialists at the same hospital. Doctor #1 kept me waiting so long doctor #2 refused to see me. I tried to explain I was in the building and why I was late, but he wouldn’t hear it. I’d already waited 4 months for these appointments. FML
Today, after spending almost an hour in the dentist's waiting room, watching other people get called in for their appointments, I finally lost my patience and asked the receptionist what was taking so long. I'd forgotten to sign in. FML
Today, I received a letter from the doctor's office saying that I'd missed an appointment and could be dropped as a patient if I missed another. My mom scheduled the appointment for me without my knowledge, and never told me that I had one. I also can't make it to any appointments right now, because my car broke down. FML
Today, I had a doctor's appointment. When I got there they informed me that it was indeed on August 21st, but 2025. I showed up a year early. The embarrassment and awkwardness was probably felt by the people in the next building as well. FML
Today, I was supposed to have a hospital appointment I've been waiting three months for, but they changed it to a phone call. The call consisted of the consultant asking questions and saying, "Yes, I see that in your notes", before concluding I need to a physical appointment and booking one… for three months' time. FML

Agreed. I had this happen where I'd show up to the doctors and they'd tell me that the doctor wasn't available and my appointment was cancelled. They'd say they called me multiple times. I had no voicemails or even any record of missed calls and I made sure they had the right phone number. This happened 3 times before my mom (I was still a teenager) lost it on them and we went elsewhere. Some places are just very unorganized or have a lot of employees that don't care about their job.

I've had that before. The person who wrote my Dentist Appointment two years ago wrote it for during the whole office is on vacation for two weeks. So after getting a baby sitter and getting a ride out to the office from my brother in law, they were closed. I called their emergency line as they should have been open. They said there's no way they would have done it. Changed Dentists after showing up with my appointment card to show them when they returned. Time for you to look for a new place too!

Change your Dr but make sure you look him up and see what other people have to say this way you know what your getting into. Feel better!!!

That is unprofessional and unacceptable. If the clinic is part of a hospital or health system, speak with the manager or customer satisfaction. If it is a private clinic, the physician is responsible and accountable for the actions of his/her employees. If you can't get in touch with him/her, perhaps it is time for a review of the clinic on healthgrades.com or some similar rating site.
