Today, I was trying to change the batteries of my automatic room freshener. As I held it to my face to figure out where the batteries went, it started spraying on my face. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I bought an automatic air refresher. I put the can and batteries in, and it promptly sprayed a blast of its scent down my throat. Now I can't breathe without tasting it. FML
Today, I was at a friend's house. She has one of those automatic air fresheners, and I was amazed when it went off. To get a better look at it, I got real close to it. I saw a button and pressed it. The air freshener went off again, spraying nothing but my eye. FML
Today, my parents installed an air freshener above the toilet. While I was standing to pee, it sprayed me in the face. FML
Today, I was maced. Not by a person, but rather by one of those automatic air fresheners in the bathroom. It was conveniently placed at eye level, you know, for freshness. FML
Today, someone switched my hairspray with bug spray when I didn't notice. I used it. FML
Been there before
Today, I'm so chronically sleep-deprived that I sprayed a bathroom air freshener under my arms instead of my deodorant. FML
Fresh!
Today, I wanted to freshen up my room, so I bought some Febreze. Standing on my bed, I began to spray, not noticing that the air vent directly across was turned on. The spray came directly back at me. The doctor says that the irritation in my eyes may last for several days. FML
Today, as I was walking up to a urinal I heard a small hiss. I looked up just in time to get an eye full of chemicals from the automatic air freshener. I rinsed my eye out and went back to the urinal. It happened again. FML
Once you pop…
Today, while I was trying to put on my deodorant, the whole stick popped out when I took the cap off, narrowly missing my face, into the toilet. FML
Shattered
Today, I was apparently tired enough to spray silly string under my armpits rather than deodorant. FML

Do you check to see if the electricity is on by putting your finger in the lamp socket? Do you change batteries in your flashlight while staring directly into the bulb? Do check how sharp a knife is by runnig it slowly across your tongue? Do you check to see if the stove top is hot by placing your hand on the burner? Do you check the garbage disposal by sticking your hand inside of it? Honestly, if you cannot figure out where batteries go in something as simple as an air freshner without holding it to your face, you need to stay away from all sharp objects, hot objects and mechanical items. In fact, pad all the rooms in your house with rubber, sit in a chair and watch t.v - don't touch anything, in fact hire someone to work the remote for you, it may need batteries one day and wind up stuck in your anus.....

Hint: Don't look down a shotgun barrel. Same logic applies here.

Don't those things go off when they smell something bad? So when you held it to your face...
