Today, I was maced. Not by a person, but rather by one of those automatic air fresheners in the bathroom. It was conveniently placed at eye level, you know, for freshness. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my parents installed an air freshener above the toilet. While I was standing to pee, it sprayed me in the face. FML
Today, I was at a friend's house. She has one of those automatic air fresheners, and I was amazed when it went off. To get a better look at it, I got real close to it. I saw a button and pressed it. The air freshener went off again, spraying nothing but my eye. FML
Today, I was trying to change the batteries of my automatic room freshener. As I held it to my face to figure out where the batteries went, it started spraying on my face. FML
Today, I bought an automatic air refresher. I put the can and batteries in, and it promptly sprayed a blast of its scent down my throat. Now I can't breathe without tasting it. FML
Today, as I was walking up to a urinal I heard a small hiss. I looked up just in time to get an eye full of chemicals from the automatic air freshener. I rinsed my eye out and went back to the urinal. It happened again. FML
Today, I was using a restroom when I heard someone sneeze. I said, "Bless you." It happened again about three times, so I repeated myself each time. I then noticed it was an automatic air freshener. FML
Been there before
Today, I'm so chronically sleep-deprived that I sprayed a bathroom air freshener under my arms instead of my deodorant. FML
Today, while checking the men's bathroom at work, I noticed one of the air fresheners had fallen from the top of the paper towel holder into the garbage. It wasn't until I picked it up and examined it that I realized I was actually holding used urinal fresheners. FML
Fresh!
Today, I wanted to freshen up my room, so I bought some Febreze. Standing on my bed, I began to spray, not noticing that the air vent directly across was turned on. The spray came directly back at me. The doctor says that the irritation in my eyes may last for several days. FML
Today, I really had to go to the bathroom. Due to my fear of public restrooms, I made sure it was clear before I started. I heard someone sigh halfway through. Embarrassed, I waited a full ten minutes before leaving the stall, only to see that it was only the automatic air freshener. FML

That was supposed to be a reply to #2

why would someone put it there? did a midget install it?
ninjuh_wingman 29
Unless the OP is a little person as well, then the air freshener would be at crotch level, not face level. Seriously use the thing in your skull called a brain.

21- in 3's defense, if a midget would install an air freshener they would most likely choose not to put it at eye level but at a higher height that is suitable for them. Maybe say, a height about eye level for the rest of us.

I've seen this so much lately: people make a joke and then say, to some effect, "no? ill show myself out". Either have confidence in your joke or don't say it because ending your comment that way shows that you already thought your joke wasn't worth posting.
starile 20
Yep. It was a funny comment until that last sentence.

people think they're not funny because the community is harsh and judgemental
imbedderdenu 23
made me smile!
AholeCop 11
It has nothing to do with confidence or something being unfunny. It's an intentionally tongue in cheek bad joke. The second sentence serves to recognize the intention. It's to be read in a character voice.

Unless you've suffered serious eye damage, please don't go all sue-happy like the stereotypical Americans that the FML community likes to complain about...
Allornone 35
um, you seem to be the only one concerned with lawsuits. I don't think anyone else has even mentioned one. Or did you just want some flimsy reason to insult Americans?
NessaMae 19
What is your definition of a stereotypical American? Can I safely assume you're a stereotypical Canadian? Country stereotypes are ridiculous.
evan_7899 28
If he is a Canadian, we claim no reponsibility for retards like him. I bet he's euro where they make fun and take every shot at north Americans. but yet again, we claim no responsibility for idiots like him if he is one

At least we're not afraid of the dark! *Damn Canadians*
