Today, I was straightening my hair when I heard this crunching, sizzling sound. Taking the flat iron away, I realized that I had just fused a spider to my hair with the heat. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, getting ready to go out, I turned on my straightener. After 5 minutes, I start straightening one big strand when I realize I'm smelting plastic into my hair. Turns out I'd left it on a plastic box. Of course, plastic never comes out, so I had to cut it out. FML
You absolute melt
Today, I was reading a magazine while straightening my hair. I got really into this one article until suddenly a huge clump of hair fell on it. I looked up and realized I had burned through the layer of hair I was straightening, leaving me with one layer at ear length and the rest at bra length. FML
Today, I took out my old hairdryer and turned it on. I then gave my roommate a show as I ran out of the bathroom, naked and screaming, after a spider was blasted out of the hairdryer and directly at my face. FML
The passenger
Today, while hiking, I walked face first into a spider web. Freaking out, I shook my hair out in case there was a spider. Later on in the day the spider fell from my hair into my food. FML
Today, I burned my tongue. With a flat iron. FML
Today, I was using my new curling iron to curl my hair. I was sitting down. Suddenly I dropped the iron and, as a reflex, I caught it between my bare thighs. FML
Today, I successfully stopped my hair straightener from falling into a bathtub full of water by grabbing hold of the burning hot plates. FML
Today, my hair straightener broke. My husband suggested putting electrical tape on it because it was heat proof. I did and started straightening my hair. The supposed heat proof tape melted and got stuck in my hair. FML
Bath time [GONE WRONG][CREEPYPASTA]
Today, I was quietly having a bath when I felt something fall onto my shoulder blade. I glanced over my shoulder and saw what I thought were huge black spider legs. I screamed, completely hysterical, and I threw myself violently against a wall. It was my hair. FML
Today, it took a whole half hour of scratching my head before I realized with horror that the weird tickling sensation I'd been feeling was actually a spider crawling around in my hair. FML

How do you not notice a spider? I mean, you'd have to be looking in the mirror atleast before you straightened your hair. In the mirror you'd probably notice one in your hair, or coming down from the ceiling. You really should've brushed through your hair before doing anything. If it jumped on you, you'd have to have noticed it on the counter, and I don't believe spiders can jump from the floor successfully into your hair. I looked up how far household spiders can jump, and I got about 5 to 22 inches. Unless you're freakishly short, then I don't see how that could happen. If it was in your straightener, why didn't you look at it? Don't people normally check them? I do. Chances are, it was probably already in your hair from something else, and you just didn't notice it until it was too late. I'd say YDI for not looking close enough, but I don't think anyone really deserves this to happen to them. It's pretty gross.

Even though I hate spiders, FHL! He just got burnt to death. And fused with your hair or whatever you said.

I'd stay as far away from my hair straightener as possible for at LEAST a month if that happened to me. ...I hate spiders.

"Today, I decided to climb down my thread to the floor, minding my own business when I fell into the path of a flat iron instead. My body is crushed, fried and fused to human hair. Who will provide for all my babies on the ceiling now? FML"
