Today, I was singing Alicia Keys in the shower and hitting the insanely high notes. My father ran into the bathroom and threw open the shower door, screaming. He thought I was wailing in pain. FML

Today, I was singing in the shower but couldn't hit the higher notes. My wife complained and 2 minutes later she ran a tap causing my shower to go freezing. I shrieked. My wife said my pitch was still wrong. FML

Today, I was singing horribly in the shower. Without me knowing, my sister recorded my singing and set it as my ringtone. My phone rang in class and everyone heard it. My new nickname is American Idol. FML
Today, I was singing my heart out in the shower, convinced I was alone. Turns out my roommate had friends over, and they could hear everything through the bathroom vent. Now, they keep requesting encore performances of my renditions of songs by The Smiths. FML

Today, I was at a local talent show and during a piano performance I had to go to the bathroom. I sang along in the bathroom but was unaware how loud I was until I walked out and everyone started applauding me while the pianist was still playing. FML

you might suck at singing, but at least you know your dad cares about you :) for further notice, either sing softer, sing something where the artist has a normal vocal range, or warn your dad when you're about to shower then lock the door from now on.

There really is an actual difference though. Wailing and screaming is basically what broadway style belting is, where you take the voice you speak in and force it up to unnatural and unhealthy levels. Then there's mixing, and also the technique of passagios. Ultimately though, the way and technique with which you hit the notes is what makes the difference between singing and yelling. It's the reason Pavarotti sounded different from a rock singer with the same range.
