Today, I was at a pet store cuddling an apparently overaggressive chinchilla when it decided to bite me and run out of my hands. It is now nowhere to be found and I have to pay for it. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Cujo 2: Electric Boogaloo
Today, I was mauled by my own dog. I own a Chihuahua. FML
Sorry Stuart…
Today, I went to put my coat on to go out. I put my hand in my pocket, not knowing there was a mouse sleeping in there. I squeezed it, it bit me and ran off. FML
Today, I found my pet hamster that escaped yesterday, wet and soggy, next to my pet dog. My dog chewed it. FML
Panic attack
Today, I was shopping when I got charged at by a really big dog, causing me to panic and fall. The store won’t do anything because the cunt of an owner lied and said it’s her “service dog.” FML
Red or grey?
Today, I tried to take a selfie with a squirrel and it bit me. FML
Today, after applying for a job at the local pet store, I picked up a ferret. It began licking my cheek, causing me to turn my head. It then latched onto my ear and hung like a giant furry hoop earring. I screamed, then quietly left the building. FML
It's alive!
Today, I found my cat downstairs with a squirrel dangling from his mouth. When I saw this, I yelled at my cat to put it down. He did. Turns out the squirrel was still alive and run. I had to spend the next three hours chasing it out of my house. FML
Today, I woke up at 5:30 AM to my boyfriend flipping on the lights and shouting, "We have a problem!" Our chinchilla had gotten out of his maximum security cage, and half of our apartment is now underwater because he decided the water line that leads to the fridge would make a tasty midnight snack. FML
Today, my 6 ft snake got loose. I found it. It was in my neighbor's backyard, constricting their pet rabbit. FML
Today, my dog ran away. It was dark, so I couldn't see very well, but I ran after him anyway. Thinking I had caught up to him, I grabbed him. It wasn't my dog. It was a skunk. FML

Why would you cuddle any animal in a pet store? You don't "cuddle" any animal that has had absolutely no time to bond with you, especially a pet store animal that isn't used to being handled. Chinchillas are rodents, and like most rodents, they need to chew constantly to keep their teeth ground down. It's a natural behavior, not an overly aggressive one. It's your own fault for messing with any animal that has not been conditioned to being handled by humans.

My 4th grade teacher had a chinchilla like that it would sit in a corner if her cage fir hours gnawing on wood. I read that if chinchillas spend a lot of time keeping still that was a bad sign and a vet should check it out. I probably should have told her that

Not a chance. I'd make the pet store pay for the doctor bill for the bite (you should definitely get an animal bite, especially from a rodent, looked at). Then I'd tell them they could find their own rat, because if they find the damn thing, they won't give you your money back. They will sell the chinchilla. That's what they have insurance for.

I'm sure there were signs telling you not to pick up the animals.
