Today, I was at a pet store cuddling an apparently overaggressive chinchilla when it decided to bite me and run out of my hands. It is now nowhere to be found and I have to pay for it. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Cujo 2: Electric Boogaloo
Today, I was mauled by my own dog. I own a Chihuahua. FML
Sorry Stuart…
Today, I went to put my coat on to go out. I put my hand in my pocket, not knowing there was a mouse sleeping in there. I squeezed it, it bit me and ran off. FML
Today, I found my pet hamster that escaped yesterday, wet and soggy, next to my pet dog. My dog chewed it. FML
Panic attack
Today, I was shopping when I got charged at by a really big dog, causing me to panic and fall. The store won’t do anything because the cunt of an owner lied and said it’s her “service dog.” FML
Red or grey?
Today, I tried to take a selfie with a squirrel and it bit me. FML
Today, after applying for a job at the local pet store, I picked up a ferret. It began licking my cheek, causing me to turn my head. It then latched onto my ear and hung like a giant furry hoop earring. I screamed, then quietly left the building. FML
It's alive!
Today, I found my cat downstairs with a squirrel dangling from his mouth. When I saw this, I yelled at my cat to put it down. He did. Turns out the squirrel was still alive and run. I had to spend the next three hours chasing it out of my house. FML
Today, I woke up at 5:30 AM to my boyfriend flipping on the lights and shouting, "We have a problem!" Our chinchilla had gotten out of his maximum security cage, and half of our apartment is now underwater because he decided the water line that leads to the fridge would make a tasty midnight snack. FML
Today, my 6 ft snake got loose. I found it. It was in my neighbor's backyard, constricting their pet rabbit. FML
Today, my dog ran away. It was dark, so I couldn't see very well, but I ran after him anyway. Thinking I had caught up to him, I grabbed him. It wasn't my dog. It was a skunk. FML

Why would you cuddle any animal in a pet store? You don't "cuddle" any animal that has had absolutely no time to bond with you, especially a pet store animal that isn't used to being handled. Chinchillas are rodents, and like most rodents, they need to chew constantly to keep their teeth ground down. It's a natural behavior, not an overly aggressive one. It's your own fault for messing with any animal that has not been conditioned to being handled by humans.

if there aren't any signs saying not to pick up the animals, then tell them you'll pay for the chinchilla after they pay your medical bills and storm out screaming something about calling your lawyer. if they do have signs. YDI dummy

YDI for playing with rodents, Richard Gere. Also, YDI for having hands for it to bite.

Great OP! Now someones coat is going to be just a few inches too short.

Chinchillas cannot be "cuddled" like most pets. Because of their thick fur, they cannot get over 80 degrees F without suffering from heat stroke. He most likely reacted that way because he was getting too hot and had to get away to save himself...you were killing him.

THE SCENE: The pet store 10 minutes after closing time. A well trained chinchilla is chewing on a special treat given to him by a very happy owner. Beneath the counter a open door leads to a concealed cage, while next to the register lies a bag of two dozen Chinchilla treats with only 3 left in the bottom...

that's what I was thinking... you won't get arrested if you didn't leave the store with it... I wonder if you'll get a refund when it's back on display tomorrow. Or they will hide it and sell it some other way. Shoulda called the cops then, or an atty now.

Yes... But think of it this way; if OP ends up finding the furry rascal, she has already paid for it and can take it home where it may eat, sleep, poop and run away all it wants to. Sounds like a good deal to me
