Today, I told my husband that while he was away I had had a miscarriage. His response? "If you can't take care of our baby while it is still inside you, how can I trust you to take care of it when it comes out?" FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I realised how little my husband trusts me after I told him I was pregnant and the first words out of his mouth were, “Is it mine?” FML
Sounds like a lovely guy
Today, I had my second miscarriage. My husband responded by throwing a bitch fit because I "totally blindsided him with this miscarriage shit” knowing he wanted kids, and if he'd known he wouldn’t have married me in the first place. He threw his wedding band in the trash and stormed off. FML
Heartwarming
Today, I had to break the news to my husband that I had miscarried our first child, to which he replied, "Thank God!" and told me he wanted a divorce. FML
Empathy
Today, I had a miscarriage. My partner doesn't understand why I'm upset, saying, "It wasn't even a real baby yet." FML
I did what now?
Today, my husband rushed me to the hospital, and we were told that I'd had a miscarriage. Neither of us knew I was pregnant. FML
Today, I had to take an emergency contraceptive. I was talking to my boyfriend about it, and I told him that my stomach really hurt. His response? "Aw. That's just the baby dying." FML
Dick
Today, my husband threw an epic temper tantrum because I wouldn’t have sex with him. I recently suffered from a miscarriage and the thought of anything going on down there makes me uncomfortable. He eventually calmed down and said, "Fine, just don’t be surprised if I end up cheating." FML
Mr Sensitivity
Today, I spent four hours at the ER because I had a miscarriage. The father of the baby was being sweet and supportive while I was there and checked in on me after I got home. Six hours after we found out we lost our baby, he asked for a threesome. He still doesn’t understand what’s wrong. FML
Today, my boyfriend tried to tell me that he was worried our child might not be mine because he was cheating on me when I got pregnant. FML
Today, I was at work, when a co-worker began to shake a near empty box. Without thinking, I shouted "What if there was a baby in there? You just killed it!" I then remembered she recently suffered a miscarriage. FML

WTF. I hope this isn't true. if it is then you need to leave him. That is one of the cruelest, hurtful insensitive things Ive heard in a long time. My wife and I lost our first child 4 years ago to a miscarriage and I still get upset by it, thankfully we have 2 beautiful children now. leave that loser.

He may not understand how exactly pregnancy works. I've heard more weird and ****** up things said by people who were actually being serious. They just didn't understand the process.

I am so sorry that you had to go through this. this is not your fault, you had no control over this outcome. Pregnancy is a very complex process in which many things can go wrong even if mother and embryo/fetus/baby are healthy. Certian things have to happen at specific times and if they are interupted there can be catastophic consequences. Things just didn't work out this time. For closure I would suggest going to your ob/gyn and the doctor can tell you what may have gone wrong medically, there may be an underlying cause such as high blood pressure that if treated will save your and your future babies' lives. living with such an asshole for a husband is a very possible cause for your tragedy. stress and depression have wide spread effects on your whole body. don't loose hope, once you leave this sorry excuse for a human being you will be in such a better place and will probably be able to carry a child to term. you really need to leave him, the way he is putting the blame on you is a classic example of emotional abuse. If this was his idea of a joke, to me it seems worse. If he laughs at your pain, rethink rasing a child with him. I agree with many previous posters that this man needs a swift kick in the nads (or you could step on them). It might be even more effective to tell his mother/family/friends what he said to you, they will be appalled. I mean seriously look how many total strangers are on your side. After you get him out of your life, his mother can still make his life a living hell. Keep on trucking sister, things will work ot for you in the end.

That's disgusting. I'd be leaving him ASAP.

Wow... that really isn't anywhere near an appropriate reaction. Sorry for your loss. But, to everybody here who is giving the OP advice to leave her husband please consider this: It is possible that this lame try at a joke was his way to come to terms with the situation. People react very strange when under strong emotianal stress. Giving someone advice on how to handle their relationship based on a single incident is not a good idea.

I agree. When something shocks me (in a bad way), I tend to laugh because I know of no other way to deal with it. This comes from years of trauma, though. I agree that it could be that he was actually shocked so bad that this was the only thing he could come up with. If this isn't the case, I agree with everyone else that she needs to drop this little f*cker like there is no tomorrow.

I thought that was hilarious. I'd totally high five that dude, and smack all you over dramatic queens in the face in the process. You all take yourselves way too seriously. I mean, come on. It's the internet and that shit was funny.

Hey, everyone don't assume the guy is an asshole. By this post it sounds to me that the op's husband is not aware of what a miscarriage is. "When it comes out"? It sounds to me that if the guy knew what it was, he wouldn't have said "when it comes out". Still a rude thing to say, yes, but I'm not convinced he would have said that if he knew what a miscarriage was.

How stupid could he be? I wouldnt give him that benefit of a doubt. I knew about miscarriages when I was 15/16. How old is this guy? 12? Its more likely hes just angry and looking for someone to blame. A lot of people are like that whennsomething shocks them like that, they say stupid things. I wouldnt dump him. Hed just be in the doghouse for a long while.
