Today, I thought about how my dad went to get me a Halloween costume and hasn't come home yet. That was 11 years ago. We've moved twice since then. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went to meet my dad, who I haven't seen in years, at a convenience store. He didn't show up, because the location was "inconvenient." FML
Tight knit family
Today, I went to visit my parents after 4 years of not seeing them. They'd moved without telling me. FML
Heart-wrenching
Today, it hit me that my dad didn't cry when I moved out, he did so only when I came back later to pick up my cat. FML
Today, I was handing candy to a little boy who was trick or treating by himself. He was small enough to grab the candy and run past me into my house. I've been searching my house for two hours and still can't find him. I'm afraid to go to sleep. FML
Today, my 3 year old daughter's Halloween costume finally got delivered. FML
Today, I was excited to finally receive my Halloween costume in the mail after the one I ordered back in September got lost in transit. Upon reaching my mailbox, I saw the lock had been broken off and my new costume had been stolen. The party is tomorrow. FML
Today, my son couldn't find all the parts to his Cub Scout uniform. I had a serious talk with him about being prepared, and how he would need to live with the consequences of not having the right outfit on. When we arrived at the meeting, everyone was in costumes because it's Halloween. I forgot. FML
Today, I saw my dad for the first time in ten years. He was stealing my car. FML
Not worth my time
Today, my dad has gone to two different relatives’ weddings in two different states this month alone. I also found out about his big birthday celebration, his BBQ and his trip to Vegas. I saw it all on Facebook. I’ve not been invited to anything, and he never visits me. I live an hour away. FML
Today, I was hanging out with a guy for the second time, and he was helping me buy a Christmas present for my dad. I excused myself to go to the bathroom, and when I came out, he was gone. He left me alone and took my dad's present with him. FML

Maybe he got you a ghost costume, and was too excited so he tried it on. Now he can't get it off, and he's been around you the whole time. :o

Today, after slaving for 11 years on the perfect Halloween costume for my beautiful daughter, I come home to find that they have moved. Twice. FML

Was he a good dad until then? Does his side of the family know where he is? Or a possible scenario is something happened to him (criminal attack and he is missing). If he was a crap parent before he left, most likely he disappeared willingly. But if he was a great father and husband to your mom, maybe something bad happened to him....

I think Dexter Morgan found out about his double life.

Nope. Just divorce.

Some people are ******* horrible. They don't appreciate what they have, even something as precious as a child. I'm sorry, OP.

Divorce?? I don't really get it
KeyboardWarrior 10
*Sigh* OP's dad said he was going to get OP a costume, however that was just an excuse for him to walk out on them. That or, like 6 said, he's dressed in OP's ghost costume and has been around the entire time.

Awe that's too bad, don't worry. In these eleven years you must have grown up and had the best in life. :)

Yes, because not having a father around is what every little girl wants. 'Cause that's what's best in life.

It all depends on how good or bad the dad was. If the dad beat on her and her mom the. Of course she is going to live a better life.
Almighty_Chris97 6
Unfortunately she probably hasn't. Having grown up with a single mother myself I know it's not all that easy. It could be worse but, "the best in life" may not be the best way to describe it.

that's not funny.. that's just sad...

Hence the reason she put it on FMyLife. Because it's sad.

69, Don't be a bitch. Having a parent walk out on you is terrible. My dad left when I was 3. Its not funny.
