Today, I thought about how my dad went to get me a Halloween costume and hasn't come home yet. That was 11 years ago. We've moved twice since then. FML

Today, I went to meet my dad, who I haven't seen in years, at a convenience store. He didn't show up, because the location was "inconvenient." FML
Today, I went to visit my parents after 4 years of not seeing them. They'd moved without telling me. FML
Today, it hit me that my dad didn't cry when I moved out, he did so only when I came back later to pick up my cat. FML
Today, I was handing candy to a little boy who was trick or treating by himself. He was small enough to grab the candy and run past me into my house. I've been searching my house for two hours and still can't find him. I'm afraid to go to sleep. FML
Today, my 3 year old daughter's Halloween costume finally got delivered. FML
Today, I was excited to finally receive my Halloween costume in the mail after the one I ordered back in September got lost in transit. Upon reaching my mailbox, I saw the lock had been broken off and my new costume had been stolen. The party is tomorrow. FML
Today, my son couldn't find all the parts to his Cub Scout uniform. I had a serious talk with him about being prepared, and how he would need to live with the consequences of not having the right outfit on. When we arrived at the meeting, everyone was in costumes because it's Halloween. I forgot. FML
Today, I saw my dad for the first time in ten years. He was stealing my car. FML
Today, my dad has gone to two different relatives’ weddings in two different states this month alone. I also found out about his big birthday celebration, his BBQ and his trip to Vegas. I saw it all on Facebook. I’ve not been invited to anything, and he never visits me. I live an hour away. FML
Today, I was hanging out with a guy for the second time, and he was helping me buy a Christmas present for my dad. I excused myself to go to the bathroom, and when I came out, he was gone. He left me alone and took my dad's present with him. FML

Maybe he got you a ghost costume, and was too excited so he tried it on. Now he can't get it off, and he's been around you the whole time. :o

Today, after slaving for 11 years on the perfect Halloween costume for my beautiful daughter, I come home to find that they have moved. Twice. FML

Umm maybe it was a nasty divorce and they moved twice to avoid him? The "Halloween costume" could be a cover up.

That's a terrible thing to do to your kid. How some guys can be such an asshole mystifies me. If I did anything even 1/10th as bad, I would not be able to live with myself.

My heart hurts for you. The last time I saw my dad was when I was 11, I'm 27 now. He's a dead beat. It's very difficult to grow up without a father. I never feel quite right about myself, not having the support of a dad. You aren't alone, there are people out there who have gone through similar things.

141, I think it's more that they already know whether or not he went missing or ran out, its not ambiguous to the OP, they just worded it in a way to suggest the FML is that he isn't around anymore rather than the way in which this came to be.
