Today, I saw a cute guy at the coffee shop reading a book. Wanting to be friendly, I smiled as I approached and asked what he was reading. He returned the smile and said, "Minding your damn business, by Fuck Off." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was in the middle of enjoying a really good book while in a waiting room. Someone saw what I was reading and thought it would be cool if she leaned over and told me everything that happens. FML
Covert
Today, I tried to take a subtle picture of a cute guy reading at a café. My phone flash went off. He looked up, made direct eye contact, and said, “You could’ve just asked.” I packed up my stuff and left immediately. FML
Today, I was reading a book in public. Some bastard stranger came over and started spoiling the plot for me. FML
Well, this is awkward
Today, I was having lunch at a cafe. There was an attractive guy looking at me from another table. I smiled back and gave a little wink. A minute later he approached me. I introduced myself and asked if he wanted my number. He said, "Um, no but what are you eating? It looks really good" FML
Creepy
Today, I went to grab a coffee at a new café in town. While sipping my coffee, I noticed a man staring at me through the window. I thought he was browsing the menu before I looked up mid-sip to him staring at me in the eye, sucking on his finger. FML
The good old days
Today, I was reading a newspaper at a bus stop when a creepy guy rested his chin on my shoulder and said, "I miss the good old days, when people would read newspapers together and it wasn't classed as weird." He then walked off. FML
Masterful gambit
Today, a cute guy asked me out for coffee. I like him but didn't want it to be easy, so I said, "Coffee dates are for broke bums, aim a little higher." He said, "Aight I will, peace out" and walked off. FML
Today, I went on a date with a cute guy I met at a bookstore. He stood up and said he was leaving when I said that I didn't like 50 Shades of Grey, because he, "doesn't want to be near a bitch who doesn't know her place". He then told me to give him a ride home. FML
We got a reader!
Today, my new boyfriend came over to my apartment for the first time. Up until now I thought he was great, but when he spotted the book I'm currently reading next to my couch, he uttered the immortal question, "Why do you read?" FML
The self help books are over there
Today, a guy in the library came up to me and said, "You look very unproductive. Just watching you makes me depressed." FML

What he did is a douche move but generally when people are reading it means they don't want to be disturbed especially if you can see what they are reading.

Welcome to our world, (of men). This is exactly what 97% of men experience 98% of the time when trying to start a friendly conversation with a woman.

Bit of a huge exaggeration. I'd never be rude like that unless the other person was harassing me and I'd be very surprised if any women that I know would be that rude. And I've never heard any of my male friends complain about this.

Well, the problem with this is that the perspective of women depends on whether they think the guy is cute or not : When a guy is considered to be cute : 'I'm always flattered by any male attention'. When a guy is considered to not be cute : 'this guy is harassing me'.

You're SO right! I never thought of it like that before. Poor men! I would hate to be a guy... girls are ruthless and think it's okay or funny. Personally I have never been like that to someone I dont find attractive. It takes courage to go up and talk to someone you find is attractive. There are other ways to let them know you're not interested than just flat out being mean. You can't be TOO nice.. because then you're a "tease" if you're not interested.. but there's no reason to be a complete bitch either.

That was a bit overly rude. It wasn't that serious for him to bring out the asshole in himself. All he had to do was answer your question and say that he doesn't want to be rude but he doesn't want to talk to anyone and leave it like that and continue to read his book. It's so much better, easier and don't cost a thing to make someone feel good with kind words instead of making someone feel bad with mean words.

This is how my friend is. People think he is hot but when they talk to him he tells them to **** off. He hates everyone accept his friends

Good lord. Maybe he should be reading something about People Skills.. or Manors.. because obviously his mother didn't teach him any!

Wow, just wow. I agree with #3 for a response.

Yeah, I get him. There's nothing worse than when you just want to sit down and read a book, maybe get some coffee/food, and having people ask you questions when you don't want to talk, especially a girl that wants to be friends/in a relationship.

Admittedly that was a little harsh. But I don't really like it when Im minding my own business and strangers bother me either.
