Today, I saw a cute guy at the coffee shop reading a book. Wanting to be friendly, I smiled as I approached and asked what he was reading. He returned the smile and said, "Minding your damn business, by Fuck Off." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was in the middle of enjoying a really good book while in a waiting room. Someone saw what I was reading and thought it would be cool if she leaned over and told me everything that happens. FML
Covert
Today, I tried to take a subtle picture of a cute guy reading at a café. My phone flash went off. He looked up, made direct eye contact, and said, “You could’ve just asked.” I packed up my stuff and left immediately. FML
Today, I was reading a book in public. Some bastard stranger came over and started spoiling the plot for me. FML
Well, this is awkward
Today, I was having lunch at a cafe. There was an attractive guy looking at me from another table. I smiled back and gave a little wink. A minute later he approached me. I introduced myself and asked if he wanted my number. He said, "Um, no but what are you eating? It looks really good" FML
Creepy
Today, I went to grab a coffee at a new café in town. While sipping my coffee, I noticed a man staring at me through the window. I thought he was browsing the menu before I looked up mid-sip to him staring at me in the eye, sucking on his finger. FML
The good old days
Today, I was reading a newspaper at a bus stop when a creepy guy rested his chin on my shoulder and said, "I miss the good old days, when people would read newspapers together and it wasn't classed as weird." He then walked off. FML
Masterful gambit
Today, a cute guy asked me out for coffee. I like him but didn't want it to be easy, so I said, "Coffee dates are for broke bums, aim a little higher." He said, "Aight I will, peace out" and walked off. FML
Today, I went on a date with a cute guy I met at a bookstore. He stood up and said he was leaving when I said that I didn't like 50 Shades of Grey, because he, "doesn't want to be near a bitch who doesn't know her place". He then told me to give him a ride home. FML
We got a reader!
Today, my new boyfriend came over to my apartment for the first time. Up until now I thought he was great, but when he spotted the book I'm currently reading next to my couch, he uttered the immortal question, "Why do you read?" FML
The self help books are over there
Today, a guy in the library came up to me and said, "You look very unproductive. Just watching you makes me depressed." FML

Sorry for that OP. While I understand all too well not liking to be disturbed while reading that was quite rude on his part.

That's when you figure out what book he's actually reading, look up the ending, and go back and spoil it for him. >:)

Everybody that says he's a asshole for doing that if this was girl reading and dude wanted to talk to her, you'd say she did the right thing
Maat_Attack 7
Not true actually. There is no reason no matter what sex you are to be an ass like that. If the guy didn't want to talk there are other ways to go about it. Being a complete asshole was not one of them. Now as others have said if he gave numerous signals that he did not wanna talk and op persisted then I can understand his response. But a simple question did not warrant that response.

For God's sake, why would you interrupt someone who clearly wants to be left the **** alone? I've been bothered by people (men) enough while reading that I am grateful you posted so that I can use the guy's response next time I get hassled, but YFDI.

Asking a simple questions is not bothering someone. I am an avid reader. And while yes it bugs me when I am really into a book and someone asks me something, I do not lash out at them. While being in a public place is not an open invitation to talk to someone there was no reason for the guys reaction. If he really did not want to talk he could have just shown op the cover of the boom so she could see for herself. Kill two birds with one stone. Answer op's question and show op that hey I do not wanna talk. But people that lash out like that are just complete dick heads and have no reason to be in public. If you don't want it be disturbed at all then go somewhere private and you will be left all to your lonesome. But in public there is always a chance you will be disturbed. Deal with it.

Well... perhaps he just didn't want to admit he was reading **** that didn't involve your gender?

Should've replied with "Oh, well I'm reading 'Don't Be an Asshole', by **** You".
