Today, the toilet in the IT department basement broke and flooded the room with a foot of water. In the process, it destroyed a $7000 server and an equally expensive power supply. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I woke up to my living room covered in 8 cm of water. My $2k computer was on that floor. FML
Can't take it anymore
Today, my toilet decided it wouldn't take any more shit from me, and flooded the bathroom. FML
Pumped-up Tanks
Today, at work I had to spend two hours cleaning up stinky toilet water. Why? Because yesterday, I forgot to turn on the septic tank pumps. The tank overflowed, and so did all the toilets. My boss is not happy. FML
Slop
Today, I had to stop on a long trip to use the restroom at a gas station. Apparently, there was water damage beneath the toilet, because after about two minutes of doing my business, it collapsed about seven inches beneath the floor. Guess who got covered in water, black mold, and poo. FML
I'm pissed
Today, my work finally hired someone to replace some leaky pipes. I work in the basement by myself, and just as I walked under the newly-fixed pipes, I got soaked with what appeared to be water. Apparently it was connected to a toilet. My boss couldn't find a replacement, so they made me work covered in piss. FML
Sink-dodger alert!
Today, I went to the bathroom to take a piss. While washing my hands, I heard someone taking a large dump in one of the stalls. When he was finished, he left the bathroom without washing his hands. Turns out he was the IT guy I called to fix my computer. He sat down on my chair and used my keyboard. FML
Today, after five months of working overtime and doing my own repairs around the house, such as patching my own roof to save money, I walk into my home office. I find my $2500, week old, top of the line laptop won't turn on because it's drenched in water. Apparently there's a leak in the roof. FML
Today, our toilet overflowed during the night. Over 50 gallons worth leaked through the floor and the ceiling to the room below. I am now covered in poop water. What a way to start the day. FML
Many rivers to cross
Today, the waste disposal truck managed to tip over a Portapotty on our work site, causing the contents to overflow and run down the bank towards my Portakabin office, where someone had left the door open. All my money, ID, and my car keys are now shut off to me by a river of shit. FML
Today, I returned to work after a restful week-long holiday. Before I left, I'd finished a huge assignment which is due this week. I walk in to find a water pipe has burst just above my desk, flooding our office with water and ruining my computer. Happy New Year to me. FML

You think they'd have some kind of safeguard in place, like maybe even just a drain near any water sources

This is incompetence

Sounds like a ... *looks around furtively* *wait on it* *wait on it* shitty situation!

You deserve your down votes for making a shitty joke. You should rise above jokes like that, and express your sympathy for all the money that op (assuming he's the boss) just flushed down the drain. Fml is here to comfort people like this, after all.

Are you insured?

Sadly, I'm not sure incompetence is covered under most insurance policies.

Now we know how to interrupt an uninterruptible power supply,

Why is the server in/near the toilet? Odd location.

Did you try turning it off and then back on again?

Um, isn't this the same scenario that the Fukushima power plant setup already showed us was flawed?
