Today, I overheard my mum tell my sister that she should make me a bridesmaid at her wedding. My sister scoffed, "She looks like Shamu, mum. I can't have THAT in my wedding pics." followed by laughter and my mum saying, "Touché." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my sister told me she didn’t want me in her wedding pictures because I looked fat in my bridesmaid's dress. FML
Bridezilla
Today, I’m supposed to be a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding, but she doesn’t want me in the photos because I’m over a foot taller than her and the other bridesmaids, and it will look silly in the photos. I told her I won’t even bother attending, and mom actually took her side. FML
MY wedding, MINE
Today, my sister backed out of my wedding because it was becoming too much about me. After I begged her to reconsider, I had no choice but to pick a new bridesmaid. When my new bridesmaid posted on Facebook how excited she was, my sister commented, "See, you made HER feel special." FML
Slap in the face
Today, my best friend informed me that I could not be her maid of honour because I "wasn't as pretty as the other bridesmaids" and she wanted her wedding photos to have "consistency". FML
Picture perfect
Today, I was having lunch with my sister and my mother. While my mom was busy ordering food, my sister said to me, "Look at this!" then contorted her face so that she had a double chin. My mother looked over and said to her, "Stop making fun of your sister!" FML
Besties for life
Today, my best friend told me that I wasn't invited to her wedding, saying that I was too pretty and that I would outshine her at the ceremony. I laughed and said that she was being ridiculous. She eventually confessed the real reason why I wasn't invited: apparently I'm an annoying bitch. FML
Eavesdropping ain't a good idea
Today, I overheard my boyfriend's future sister-in-law ask him not to bring me to the wedding. Apparently, me being so much shorter than everyone else is "embarrassing" and "would make the pictures look weird." FML
The best day of your life
Today, my sister looked prettier in her bridesmaid's dress than I did in my wedding dress. I love her to bits, but she won the genetic lottery out of the two of us, so even on my wedding day I feel inferior. FML
Main attraction
Today, my mother thought it would be a wonderful idea to make me late for me own wedding. It wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't focused solely on my sister because my wedding didn't center on her. The sister in question snubbed being my maid of honor over a year ago, and just decided to randomly show up. FML
Today, my mom took a picture of me. All she could say about the picture was, "At least your sister is pretty." FML

I'd rather not be in a wedding for anyone like that anyway...family or not.

I'm sorry op that's very rude on your mother and sisters part that is hard when a family members say such things it's totally not right.

you may or may not be a bit on the heavy side, but I can pretty much guarantee you are the more beautiful sister. They were awful to say such callous remarks about you, and you don't even need to deal with it, nor do you have to...family or not, its not a requirement.

If she wanted perfect photos then she should hire super models for her wedding! What a bitch! That's so hateful and shallow it's incredible and the worst thing is it from your family! Well **** them! I hate ppl who are all about the photos and how perfect they look! She's lucky she even has a family to get photos with! It's suppose to be about your friends and loved ones who you choose to celebrate your day with you! FYL OP! Please don't let them get you down. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and beauty is only skin deep! You can have a super model and if she is poison on the inside then they generally get seen as they ugly heartless bitches that they are. ❤️️ you don't need to be surrounding yourself with such negativity anyway.

OP, I give the marriage of your shallow bitch of a sister three years tops where yours will endure a life long of happiness.

Actually that sounds like a great idea to me. And when she flips out just say I'm so sorry, but shamu must be a little clumsy today. Then walk away.

It's difficult to hold a wine glass when you're all fins.

You know, could be you eat (speaking as an overweight person myself) as a defense mechanism against your family, who is clearly using you as a scapegoat for their problems. My advice, my sincere advice? GET AWAY from this toxic family. I don't know how old you are, but if you already have a job, find another one in another city and MOVE. If you're not old enough to be self-sufficient, plan for the day to get away, then do so. Some families are toxic, seriously, you will do better on your own finding out the real, beautiful you.

Yeah I have to agree. If your own mother would support such treatment from your sister she's a terrible parent and you'd be better off on your own. Do whatever it takes to get out for your own health.

...So now you're blaming your family for you being fat.

Even though I generally believe in taking responsibility for your own life and not blaming others all the time, there are some cases where the influence of others is a legitimate factor. Yes, bad family or not you do make the choice to not take care of your health, but when the people closest to you treat you like dirt I can see how you'd find yourself caring less and less about that and trying to find comfort in the wrong places (like excessive eating). Yeah that's not to entirely excuse it because I do again believe that we all have a choice at the end of the day, but what I'm saying is it's easier to make the right choice when you have the proper support. I don't know the OP so I can't fairly judge her particular situation as a whole, but if her sister treats her like that and her mother actually encourages it like she did in this situation, I'd say it's fairly logical to assume that she doesn't get the kind of loving support that she should from her family.
