Today, I'm going to be helping the love of my life pick out an engagement ring for my cousin. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Apron strings
Today, my fiancé told me he wants to buy an engagement ring for his mother, so that she doesn't feel left out. FML
Today, while at work, I helped my ex-husband pick out a ring for the girl he cheated on me with. FML
Today, I spent nearly an hour helping a customer pick out an engagement ring. I rang him up, picked out a super cute box for the ring, and wished him luck. Later I realized I never put the ring inside the box. FML
For better, for worse
Today, my boyfriend and I went shopping for an engagement ring. We ended up breaking up in the process. FML
Love bites
Today, the man I love showed me the ring he's going to give to the woman that he loves. Who is someone else. FML
Today, I was shopping for rings with my fiancée. We spent over two hours selecting the perfect ring and diamond to match. When filling out the paperwork I discovered I left my wallet at home. She had to pay the 20% down payment for the ring. FML
So romantic
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me with the prettiest, most simple ring I have ever seen. I called my sister to tell her the good news, and her response was, "I know. He had me steal the ring from Claire's." FML
Romance in Appalachia
Today, my mother beamingly asked for my opinion on her wedding dress. She is engaged to her cousin. Conveniently, they already have the same last name. FML
Today, because my fiancé is criminally incompetent at budgeting, I'm now having to pay the first installment for my own wedding ring. FML
Swoon
Today, my boyfriend said he wanted to marry me. Since he doesn't know my ring size, he asked for me to find a ring that I liked, and he would buy it and propose. The only problem is that he won't spend more than 200 dollars on it. Oh, the generosity. FML

I can't imagine how difficult that would be. You are a strong person for being supportive of your cousin; I can't say that I'd be such a good sport if I were in your position.

Your love is coming. Just hold on an be patient. Congratulations on being a wonderful enough person that you haven't tried to sabotage your cousin's happiness for your own.

Don't worry, someone who isn't in love with your cousin will come along and you'll realize that he isn't the love of your life ( hopefully)

I know how you feel. It hurts deeply inside to know your love is deciding to be engaged to someone so close to your heart! :( It hurts so bad, but stay strong! Just going to have to move on, but don't stop being friends or anything, that's just selfish. Hopefully you'll find someone!

Wait, so the love of your life wants you to help pick out a ring for your cousin to give his/her boyfriend/girlfriend? What's wrong with that? No, but that's really terrible OP. How come you're even helping though?

Lady (I assume OP is a girl but my advice can go for a guy too), you are in love with the guy, and it clearly hurts. However, it cannot be the love of your life since this love is unrequited. It is very hard to accept it, I understand, I have been there. I met a guy during my studies abroad and he checked all the boxes of my ideal man, except that he didn’t love me back and only saw me as a friend. I was ready to stay abroad just to see if there was a chance for him to love me one day but I didn’t in the end because of visa issue. I was devastated and he never knew how I felt. It took me a while to stop comparing all men I met to him. Then one day, I decided that I could not live on “what if”, that I had to accept we would never be together and I started feeling better. Few years down the road, I am now engaged to a wonderful man and I could not be happier. I am still in contact with the other guy and we are still friends. He is single and I sincerely hope he will meet someone good for him because he is a great guy. What I am trying to say is, you will have to accept that this boat has sailed and only when you do that, you will start healing and moving on. But for the moment, try to prevent yourself from further hurt by going ring shopping with him, just find any excuse. Take some distance if possible. It will take time to get over it and a lot of strength, but it is up to you. Good luck :)
