Today, I learned that if you're going to tell your mother you are gay, make sure she isn't holding a frying pan filled with hot grease. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Denial
Today, at 18, I finally told my mom I was gay. She spent the rest of the day bringing up my "future wife" at every possible chance she had. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me that he is homophobic. This wouldn't be such a big deal, if my mother wasn't a lesbian. He doesn't know this yet, and I'm afraid to tell him. FML
Today, I finally worked up the courage to tell my mom that I'm gay. She sympathetically patted my back and told me I don't need to make up excuses for me being so unattractive to women. FML
Today, I found out the hard way that if you think a waiter is hot, you probably shouldn't tell your parents. They could react by screaming at him across the room to tell him you think he's a hottie. FML
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my family for the first time. My mother's immediate reaction was, "We didn't know you were gay!" No mom, she really is a girl. FML
Today, as an April fools day joke, I decided to tell my mom and dad that I was gay. After an awkward silence, my mom looks at me, smiles, and says, "well, we have known for a while." She wasn't joking. FML
Smoking hot dude
Today, I told my parents that I'm a smoker. My mother started crying, and said she worried I was gay, but this is almost as bad. That lead on to part two of my confession. FML
Today, I came out to my mom. I had an epic speech planned, and when I tried to tell her, it all fell apart and I started crying and just said, "I'm gay." After a few seconds silence, my mom sighs and says, "Duh." FML
This is me
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. My mother turned to me and said, "Wait you're actually gay? I thought you were just saying that to piss off your father." I came out to her when I was 16, and have confided in her about my past relationships. FML
The straights are at it again
Today, I came out to my parents. My mother laughed and, when I asked her what was so funny, she told me, "Well, most gays are attractive, muscular, funny and can dress very well. You're ugly, fat, boring, and have no sense of fashion. Good luck." FML

You are so ******* stupid. Nobody CHOOSES to be gay, their sexual orientation is determined before they are born. I'm not even gonna pick apart the rest of the bullshit that is your abortion of a comment.

Some people do choose to be gay. The world is not black and white. Like some people 'born' gay could choose to be straight. Sometimes sexual orientation has nothing to do with how they're born, but how they're raised in society. Chances are, if you're 'born' gay to a redneck conservative of a father, he'll beat it out of you - OR - you'll grow up with a role model that loves women and beer and quite possibly follow along those footsteps. Psychology is a very grey science, so be careful with how you go about preaching it. (See what I did thar?)

#57 you are wrong, I knew this one girl who was lesbian but changed and now has a boyfriend, WHAT NOW BITCH, JK but still everyone says that even though it isn't true

#65, that's the whole nature vs nurture argument coming into play. It's a lose-lose situation no matter what side you argue for. Plenty of gays in the past, and probably still will in the future will hide their true feelings by dating the opposite sex and whatnot out of fear of discrimination, but they will still be attracted to the same sex. It doesn't matter if their parents "beat" it out of them, "church" it out of them, or accept it, it is nearly impossible to change who someone is, to that extent. Even if they look up to their same-gender, straight parent, they probably will not follow in the exact footsteps and be gay. That being said, sure there are people who "choose" to be gay, but those people are only doing it because they think it makes them look "cool" but "vulnerable" (for lack of better words). But anyways, like you said, psychology is a grey area. =)

@65 - OK. When did you choose to be straight? I'm actually curious.

1995. My 5th grade French teacher had a killer ass, and I was like "I want to hit that." /s and, for those that ask, I didn't hit that. This was before it was trendy for hot teachers to hook up with students :(.

If my mother threw hot grease at me, I'd kill her. And to the people saying that a mother wouldn't do that, google "father eats kid's eye."

thats sick. :(

I'm going to have to disagree with you, #57. It's not that they choose to be gay, but I think that during their upbringing, certain situations and experiences determine their sexual orientation, not that they're born like that. And #55, you're an asshole.

I didn't allow myself to elaborate on my post enough (my bad, I didn't think my post through), but I will say that my personal belief is that whether or not you are gay/lesbian/straight is all determined by a series of biological, environmental, and cognitive factors, so everything plays a small role in it.

where the hell.does plexico's comment keep disappearing to?!? now my kinky comment makes no sense.

YDI for being gay. And here come all the gay people and gay sympathizers to thumb me down and say bullshit like "its not their fault" and "they were born gay" and "theres nothing wrong with that". Well bullshit, mother nature says penis joins ****** and the world goes 'round. Keep supporting gay people and being gay, till theres no more straight people left and humans become extinct. Forget nuclear weapons, global warming, and random meteors, the real cause for the end of the world will be homosexuality.
