Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. The first thing my dad did was comment that given how pretty she looked in our photos, and compared to how she looks in real life, she's amazing at using Photoshop. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Awkward much?
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents over lunch. Unfortunately, I showed my dad her Facebook profile beforehand and he wouldn't stop making cracks about her duckfacing. It started with, "Don't let her eat the bread, it'll puff up in her stomach and kill her", and ended in tears. FML
Today, I brought my girlfriend of four months home for dinner to meet my parents. The first thing my mom says to her? "Oh my God, you're real!" FML
Today, my dad finally added me on Facebook, When I looked through his photos, I quickly noticed he'd heavily photoshopped the photos I'm in to make me look prettier. FML
Today, I met my girlfriend's parents for the first time. We got on the discussion of animals, and I showed them a picture of my cat on my phone. Being a touchscreen, when her father grabbed it, it changed picture. To a picture of my girlfriend, fully nude. FML
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. They thought it would be funny to pretend that they're nudists. FML
Parents vs. Parents
Today, my parents met my girlfriend's parents for the first time. They not only brought along embarrassing childhood photos of myself, they'd 'accidentally' placed an intimate photo of me and my ex-girlfriend with them. That was their subtle way of telling everyone they prefered my ex. FML
Today, my girlfriend met my parents for the first time. The first thing my mom said to my girlfriend was, "Honey, are you ok? You look like you got hives." FML
His type
Today, I met my boyfriend's parents for the first time. His mom stared at me throughout dinner before finally blurting out, "I'm sorry, I can't get past the fact that you look just like his ex!" It turns out I do. FML
Great, just great
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my dad. I thought it was a good idea at the time, at least until he took her aside for a private chat. During the chat, he told her all about my two previous marriages and advised her to "get out while you can". FML
Today, I met some guys from my dad's workplace. They told him what a pretty daughter he had, to which he responded, "Nah, it's just shit-loads of makeup." FML

What is it with parents insulting their kids significant other? Keep those kinds of comments to yourself.

At that moment she probably wanted to photoshop his face too. With her fists.

Smart with Google and hot with Photoshop.

Truthfully all you need for an online relationship, as long as you remember to avoid webcams. Past that, hiding unattractive qualities loses its effectiveness in face to face confrontations.

Seriously. Most of their comments are so unbelievably unnecessary.

23- I would argue that insulting someone is almost never necessary.

Thanks your comments are nice on the eyes.

Well, that's the gift of Instagram, isn't it?
doritowhore 9
It has an automatic filter, so a lot of times blemishes and other things aren't as visible/prominent. The same effect you can get from using photo editing sites, and the reason why so many people overload it with poorly taken photos of themselves.

What's an instagram?

46- Instagram does not have an automatic filter. You can, however, choose a filter to put on it or leave it alone. That doesn't mean you can't filter it like crazy and then upload it without one of their filters though.

Honesty is a double edged sword.

I believe than when parents say comments like this, it's their way of "punishing" us for whatever awkward, or impolite, thing we might have said when we were little.

By hurting someone else's feelings? That's a shitty punishment. :/

Now that I think about it, I was a jerk when I was younger. I would always yell at my mum for stopping in the supermarket to "greet a friend she hasn't seen in years". I'm sorry mum T_T

What I meant is that they put us in awkward situations. Just like little kids, awfully honest.

43- I understand what you mean, but it's still shitty. I'd never do that to my kid's boyfriend or girlfriend. :c
