Today, I had to fire an employee because she constantly calls in, or is late to work. She became very emotional and I felt kind of bad, so I walked her out myself. We then got stuck in the company elevator. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Assumptions
Today, I was short shifted at work because one of my employees decided not to show up. Furious, I wrote her up and made predetermined judgments about her. When she came in, I went off on her for being absent and leaving me stuck. She then informed me her mom tried to commit suicide. FML
FREAKOUT!
Today, at work, I helped out an employee who was having trouble. I even bought her a bottle of water. After the production manager decided to fire her on the spot, she went out in the parking lot and broke into several cars, including mine. FML
Today, my boss explained that the company will be letting me go. She got so upset that she couldn't leave her office and I had to console her. I had to make her feel less sad for laying me off. FML
I don't wanna, I don't think so
Today, I had to fire an employee for the first time in my life. She broke something that keeps breaking on its own, but she didn't report it. HR made me fire her. FML
Today, while in the elevator with the girl from my office that I've been crushing on, but never spoken to, I said "aren't elevators awkward?" After a long silence, she got off three floors before our office. FML
My life is a movie
Today, I was late for work and sprinted to catch the elevator. I made it just in time, only to realize I was in the elevator alone and had just dramatically dived into it for no reason. FML
Today, I sneaked off work early. As I was in the elevator on the way down to leave, it stopped at my boss's floor, and he got in. FML
Today, I won employee of the month. I was then fired for being late. FML
Today, I told my supervisor how awful my coworker was at her job. I then got fired. FML
Today, I went into my boss's office to confront her about not consulting me before switching my shifts with someone else. I left in tears. FML

you shouldn't feel bad it's her own fault that she got fired like she didn't see it coming

I'm confused ... after you fired her (which you had good reason to do) & she became incredibly upset, what made you think she'd want to have any further interaction with you in the first place ? Were you hoping she'd reply with "It's ok, I understand" & invite you out for drinks in-between her crying & sobbing ?

Because he was being as kind as possible with her being so emotional. He was being helpful. Or trying to get a crazy woman out of the building before a killing spree. Your choice.

It's not OP's fault her attendance sucked. I'm sure she was warned prior to her getting fired...
