Today, I had to do my assistant manager's job because she doesn't know what the hell she is doing. I'd interviewed for this position but didn't get it because I'm "still too new for this position." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that my assistant is now my manager. FML
Today, I got demoted from my manager's position, only to be replaced by a 21 year-old who has never worked in retail in her life. I now have to spend the next month teaching her my job so they can fire me. FML
Today, I interviewed potential employees for a job position that I was supposed to get promoted to. FML
Nepotism rules
Today, I got notice that I didn't get the new position I applied for at work. After two interviews, pay negotiation and paperwork, as well as years of giving this place all my time, I found out my boss gave it to his friend's daughter, who has no experience or credentials needed for the position. FML
How does that work?
Today, the girl I hired and trained took my director's position. She's not even been there a month. I didn't do anything to lose it, they just decided she was more qualified. At least I was good at picking employees I guess. FML
Here I go again
Today, I went to start my new job, only to find out that the guy who hired me had no permission to do so. I had to fill out another application, and complete another interview and I still might not get the damn job. FML
Bunch of NPCs
Today, my manager sat me down and insinuated that it's my fault that our new hires are useless. Not one person ever told me that I was responsible for training them. I'm not in charge, and they've been here for weeks. FML
Today, I was once again passed over for a promotion. I'm now the assistant to a kid who has failed to meet almost every single responsibility he's been given before. It's my job to make sure he's successful, and if he isn't, I'll lose my job. FML
Lowered expectations
Today, I was told that couldn’t become assistant manager of my job anymore. I already told my family I was going to be one, and they'd all said how proud of me they were. FML
Today, I was let go at work. About 2 years ago, we had hired an eager-to-learn "assistant" for me. When they canned me, they let me know that I should've trained him faster so I could've been fired sooner. FML

Don't do her tasks then, and let her incompetence be shown.

Why are you doing the tasks for her? Wouldn't you have a better chance of getting the position if you stopped making it seem like she knows what she's doing?

I wouldn't have done her work for her. If they didn't hire you, let them find out the mistake they made with this incompetent fool.

This is a good example as to why seniority doesn't always mean "qualified"

And the one who interviewed you is too stupid for his/her position.

Don't do her job. She's being paid for it-you're not and if she can't do it, they'll soon find out. If you do it, she'll get all the credit.

To play devils advocate, depending on how long she has been in the position, there is a learning curve for most people. In my position, I needed a LOT of help learning my position when I got it. There was SO much to learn- behavior plans, and goals, and meetings, not to mention learning about the girls I work with, and their parents, learning my staff and what leadership style they each needed. I am sure someone thought, great- they hired some girl fresh out of college who has no idea what she is doing. Give her time. If she is still having issues, then speak to her boss. It may not be the position for her.

Maybe go and show her how to do it
