Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Bachelor party
Today, I had to cancel my wedding because my fiancé is so hungover from his bachelor party, he's throwing up all over the place, can't stand up straight and is calling me by the stripper's name he met yesterday night. FML
Today, my husband threw up on me during our wedding vows. FML
The Phone Call
Today, I got a drunken call from my boyfriend, which consisted of him telling me that he, "does man things like fuck bitches and roll with hoes," and that I've been, "trying to turn him into a half-ass girly man," but, "that shit ain't right." Then he threw up. FML
Is everything OK?
Today, my son was so hungover at his wedding that he fell asleep standing at the altar and fell over onto his pregnant wife, knocking her backwards onto the floor. What should have been a happy occasion turned into a farce as we rushed her to hospital to check the baby was OK. FML
Today, I hired a babysitter, so my husband and I could spend some time together and work on our failing marriage. I dressed up. We went out. He got drunk and puked on me. FML
Rain check?
Today, I woke up a little after seven. I felt sick to my stomach because last night was my bachelor party and I drank more than I ever have before. I checked my phone, and I had received 42 missed calls. It was seven o'clock pm. Today was my wedding day. FML
TMI
Today, my fiancé got drunk at our wedding reception and announced to his and my family what we do in bed. And it was pretty detailed. FML
Today, I went to my fiance's cousin's wedding with him. I got drunk and danced like a stripper in front of his entire extended family, who I'd just met that day. FML
Today, at my bachelorette party, I got so wasted, I ended up giving my stripper a lap dance because he "wasn't doing it properly". There's photos. FML
Today, at our wedding, instead of saying "I do", my fiancé paused before saying, "I can't do this", stepped down from the altar and proposed to my maid of honor. When she obviously refused, he ran from the venue bawling. He's not returning my calls. FML

Wow. Why would you get that drunk the night before an important event? Even on a bachelor/hen party, you shouldn't drink so much you get that ill. Or have it before the night before if you must drink that much.

Completely unacceptable. Seriously, there's nothing wrong with drinking in moderation. He took it way too far.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY on EARTH do people have their bachelors or hen's the night before COME ON?????????? in the rest of the world we have it a week or two weeks before....... seriously how medieval can you get????
Cinn_fml 23
Traditionally that's when those events took place. However, traditionally, the people partaking probably didn't drink so much they got ill 'cause of it.

I know I'm going to have a ton of people berating me for this, but why do people find it necessary to have strippers at a bachelor/bachelorette party? I find that totally degrading, first of all. Women (or men) dancing around for money, half naked... big whoop. Whatever happened to just going out to the bar, the pool hall, whatever, and drinking the night away? Also, you're at a bachelor(ette) party. You're getting MARRIED. WHY on earth would you want entertainment from another woman, when you're about to be tied down? You know what you're getting yourself into by asking the girl to marry you. Why do you need another one just before the wedding?
Cinn_fml 23
I can't help but agree. But if someone really wants that for their bachelor/hen party, then I don't see why they shouldn't.
5t3ff1k4h 47
I don't see why they should, so I'm interested to hear your views on this. Why would they need another woman (leaving out the question of her attire/actions, or maybe we should leave that in... I don't know.) to have fun with just before they're about to be tied down? Let's just go with the classic example of the male having a bachelor party with female strippers. He asked his fiancee to marry him. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her (so to speak), and he knew the implications upon asking her to marry him. They've planned their wedding and their thisclose to sealing the deal. Why not do the stripper thing, if it's that necessary, BEFORE you get engaged?
Cinn_fml 23
If I'm honest, I don't really know either. I'm just saying some people want that. At a guess I'd say it's because it's a chance to have a stripper without their partner complaining, as it's become acceptable for the 'last days of freedom' party, and therefore the last chance to, erm, 'admire' someone who isn't their partner.
5t3ff1k4h 47
"...without their partner complaining..." Hmm. I wonder how many actually would complain? I would. Thank god my boyfriend has the same view on strippers that I do. Then again, for most things, I'm either very old fashioned (dating etc) or I'm just very different (I don't drink/do drugs/etc).
Cinn_fml 23
I must admit, I was generalising. But if you take a normal day, and one of a couple goes to a strip club, their partner is likely to complain at them. However, if it's for a bachelor/hen party, the partner tends to be more lenient. But like I said, personally I agree with you. I'm just saying, at the same time, I can vaguely understand why some people do want to do it.

Generally, yeah. I can see your point!

Unfortunately, Steph, the bachelor party is a holdover from the old days. It was meant to give the groom a taste of what he'll be missing once he's married. It's pretty cynical and I've actually seen marriages break up based on what happened in a bachelor party. I agree with you that they're pretty pointless. If you truly love the person you're suppose to be spending the rest of your life with, the wedding should be celebration enough.

YESSSSS! I've been engaged for 9 months and all my fiance can talk about is how he can't wait to marry me, how beautiful I will look, etc. I guess I am lucky. Nothing at all about one last "freebie" night with the guys to goggle at other women. I think I understand the idea of an almost purging yourself of impure thoughts before really, truly committing yourself for life. And maybe there are those that need it.

I totally agree 10000000% with you 34

RPS - Exactly my thoughts. If they want to throw a party, though, and go to the bar or something, by all means! Celebrate with the guys! There's just really no need for strippers to be involved. Besides, going back to your point about what bachelor parties are supposed to represent, once they're married, that doesn't mean the boys' nights will stop.

I agree with you too, #34. Luckily, my hubby feels the same way, so neither of us had any strippers or anything at our bachelor/bachelorette parties. But what I actually wanted to comment and say is THANK YOU to 5t3ff1k4h and Cinn for disagreeing but still managing to act like civilized, rational human beings! I think you've restored some of my faith in humanity. :-D

first of all a bachelor party is customarily thrown for the guy and is more for the guys friends than the guy. if you have a loving trusting relationship who cares if he is at a strip club because his friends brought him there? how is it any different than watching a movie with boobs or a Porno flick? I donno. My husband went to a strip club the night of his bachelor party and I didn't care at all. Hookers are another story hahaha and strip clubs aren't degrading people choose to work there they know what they are getting into. it is only degrading if you allow yourself to be disrespected.
Cinn_fml 23
Ladyvader, I'd just like to point out that I do actually agree with Steph, however I was trying to understand/explain why some people might feel differently, as Litreofcola has shown a difference of opinion (also in a civilised way).
DjeePee 25
Litreofcola, I care. There is a slight difference between boobs on a computerscreen and boobs in real life. Just saying. I have a loving, trusting relationship, and for me the 'love and trust' part stands for a couple of things, like no cheating, no flirting with other girls, and also no strippers. I don't care about ****, but girls dancing and undressing themselves in front of him till they are completely naked? No way. He thinks the same about it, so it's fine. You thought the same about it as your boyfriend, so that's also fine. But it's just not that difficult to understand why people doesn't want that their beloved one is watching naked people from the opposite sex.

^^ Exactly.

I totally agree. I'm getting married this December, and it would break my heart if my fiancée did this. 1000000 internets for you.

That's not really a hangover, that's more like "still drunk".

What kind of fool has the 'last night of freedom' party the night before the day of the wedding? This is a sign. Move on before it is too late
Trav72 5
'last night of freedom' a.k.a. 'last night of not being married'. So wouldn't that be kinda the point? :s

that way u don't have the party the night before I c ur perfect for each other as ur both dumb ass ***
karmaslave 5
All these people saying she shouldn't have "let" him have his party the night before are ridiculous. If a woman came on here saying she had done just that, you'd all be calling her a controlling bitch. Put the blame where it actually belongs: on her groom with no self-control.
