Today, I had made a cup of my favorite coffee, which I had recently found to be discontinued. To accompany this last cup, I went to get a muffin. As I turned around, I see my son pouring the cup out because I out put it next to the sink and he thought it was dirty. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Morning boost
Today, I was running late for work and grabbed what I thought was my Stanley mug of coffee. Halfway to work, I took a big swig only to realize I had grabbed my son’s thermos of chicken noodle soup, which I then spat out. My car now smells like a deli, and I'm still uncaffeinated. FML
Slow down
Today, I woke up late for work. In my rush to make a quick cup of coffee, I forgot to put a mug under the machine. I came back a few minutes later to a kitchen counter flooded with coffee and had to clean it up, making me even later. To top it off, I was out of coffee. FML
Today, I was drinking coffee out of my favorite mug, when it slipped out of my hand. I caught it, but not before most of the hot coffee spilled all over my lap. In reaction, I dropped the mug again, shattering it. FML
I'm not awake yet
Today, I bought a coffee on my way to work and put it in the cup holder. At the next red light, I noticed it was empty. I'd apparently forgotten to put the lid on. My passenger seat was covered in coffee. FML
Today, I set my cup of coffee down on the stall floor to take care of my business. A hand reached under the stall door and took my coffee. I yelled to give it back, calling them obscene names. Moments later, my fresh coffee came flying over the door. I'm burned from my head to my legs. FML
Home renovation
Today, I was cleaning my lazy son’s bedroom when I knocked a full cup out the window, complete with a layer of mould. It landed on the dog, covering him in mouldy, milky coffee. He ran inside, shook it off everywhere, then rolled around to really make sure it was smushed deep into the carpet fibres. FML
Today, on my second morning at college, I tried to make coffee using my Keurig. I realized after I got back from my shower that I hadn't put a cup under the machine. All 3 drawers of my dresser are now filled with coffee. FML
Added flavor
Today, I walked out the bathroom and saw my girlfriend peeing in a mug. She said that's the mug she uses when she can't hold it anymore. That's the mug I put my coffee in every morning. FML
Time out
Today, I was in Starbucks with my daughter when she noticed a travel cup she liked. She picked one up and asked for it, but I said no because it was expensive. She angrily slammed it back into its stand and in the process, knocked over a display of ceramic mugs. I had to pay for each broken mug. FML
Today, I went to get myself a latte to make myself feel better after having a bad day. As soon as I sat down to enjoy it, I spilled it all over myself, another customer, and the floor. FML

I feel your need for coffee, but at least he was trying to clean up.

Yes, teach your children that taking initiative and tidying up without being asked will lead to an immediate violent response. Perfect. Idiot.

I'm pretty sure it was not.

Why wouldn't it be sarcasm?

It may have been a joke, but it definitely wasn't sarcasm.

You need a lesson on sarcasm. Or better yet stop using it.

Are you as incompetent as you sound #1? Why would you slap a CHILD? Isn't child abuse against the law? Sure, he messed up, but how is coffee a big deal in the long run? OP will live.

I missed the part where the story had a violent response...what was it exactly?

I agree, you may have lost a cup of coffee but your son shows that he's at the very least willing to help out around the house. I'd say thats a win, even if the cost is your cup of coffee.
False_Stupidity 42
It's not just any old coffee, it's the last of its kind and the OP will never be able to enjoy its pleasant aroma ever again. *sniff*

Well he knows to get rid of dirty things, so it's not all that bad I guess.

Kind of reminds me of when starbucks makes seasonal coffees and then you run out, its pretty depressing.
emmabear1995 18
Yes! There's a Starbucks at the college I go to, and they're always running out of the "pumpkin spice" flavor.

I feel your pain, OP. My favorite lotion was discontinued a few years ago and my aunt stole my last bottle of it.

If this was a cat instead of your son, it would be a MLIA.

While I mourn for the loss of a perfectly good coffee, you should absolutely commend him for making the effort to clean up without your even asking him. Sounds like you're raising a good kid.
