Today, I had finally summoned the courage to break up with my boyfriend, something I've needed to do for a long time. Right before my speech, he presented me with tickets to my favorite band a month from now. FML

If you went with him I'm sure you wouldn't have had as much fun as going with any of your friends or alone even

Now, I ain't saying you a gold digger but.....

Wow. Sounds like he needs to break up with you!

It doesn't necessarily sound like that, if the OP is having to find courage to break up with him then there's clearly something wrong with their relationship anyway. Besides, giving her something nice for no apparent reason is always going to make it harder to break up with someone. It's not necessarily that they're using them, just that having them show that they care and then you ending things is always difficult. At no point did the OP say that she was going to use him for tickets. Just that it's harder for her to act upon her decision now. Although if the OP does take the tickets and stay around for a month just because of that then it's a bit ****** up of her.

thats awful to use a person. the tickets should no way be a factor in this. seeing as he got tickets for YOUR favorite band sounds like he's a pretty good boyfriend and you don't want him for other reasons but don't do worse inflicting just for your own gain. ****.

She never said she was going to take the tickets. Just because someone buys you pretty things, does not mean they are a good person either. I'm not saying her bf is, but a lot abusers in a relationship will but their partner things that they like to "make up" for it. Or they know that their partner is not happy in the relationship and try to manipulate them, and make them feel guilty, by buying them things. There is so much information missing from this fml, you have no right to call OP a ****, and it just makes you sound like one.

Buying somebody tickets doesn't mean they're a good boyfriend or even a good person. We don't know why OP's ending the relationship. For all we know, this could be the only nice thing he's ever done for her.

If you string him along for a concert, I pray your car breaks down the day before.

Tell him to take someone else?

So? Buy tickets yourself and go with a friend. You'll have more fun.

Boy: what do you do? Girl : I am a Giftitude...

No this is his FML you're gonna drag it along to go to a concert and then drop this bomb on him? Wrong.

buy the tix off him?

You could just break up with him and then buy the tickets off him or something

I bought a Meet and Greet ticket for my girlfriend. She broke up with me the next day. The good news is I don't think they'll ever find the body. (that's a joke, kids!)
