Today, I had finally summoned the courage to break up with my boyfriend, something I've needed to do for a long time. Right before my speech, he presented me with tickets to my favorite band a month from now. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Bad timing
Today, I finally worked up the courage to tell my boyfriend that I wanted to go separate ways. Before I could say anything, he proposed. FML
Talk about not getting the picture…
Today, I finally worked up the courage to break up with my boyfriend. His parents weren't able to pick him up for 5 hours. I ended up taking him to a movie to kill time and end on a positive note, but now he thinks we're cool and back on track. FML
Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I had only been dating him for about a month. Thinking he wouldn't take it very hard, I invited him over so I could tell him in person. Little did I know he was going to start crying on my couch and not leave for 5 hours. FML
Awkward small talk
Today, I went to my boyfriend's house, intending to break up with him. Instead, I was greeted by his whole family throwing me a surprise party. I had to sit and listen to his whole family talk about what a great couple we are and how we're going to last forever. FML
Today, I had my sweet sixteen party. All my best friends came to the microphone to make a little speech. When my boyfriend came to do his, he broke up with me. FML
Today, my boyfriend's proposal speech somehow ended with him breaking up with me. FML
Today, I finally got up the nerve to leave my boyfriend. We have no spark and quite honestly, it's been really awkward. I planned to tell him when he came in, and I did. After all was said and done, he handed me the roses and new puppy he had bought for me, a puppy that I had been saving up to get. FML
Tactical
Today, wanting to break up with my boyfriend, I invited him to dinner with my parents. I was sure they'd hate him, which would give me the excuse I needed. They ended up loving him, and now they won't stop mentioning marriage. FML
Great birthday
Today, I bought my boyfriend two concert tickets for his birthday to see our favorite band, and he told me he doesn't feel he loves me. FML
Today, I was going to break up with my boyfriend after we went out for dinner. To my surprise, our families were also in the restaurant, to witness him propose to me. FML

If you went with him I'm sure you wouldn't have had as much fun as going with any of your friends or alone even

OP, don't be one of those people that stays with someone they don't even love just because that person buys them things. Be a good person; give the poor dude the tickets back and nicely explain that you can't accept them, and why you think the relationship should end. He might be mad, but not nearly as much as he will be if he figures out you stayed with him for over a month, lying about your feelings, just to attend a concert. The healthiest thing for both of you would be to end things now.

The concert won't make you any happier. Can always buy your own tickets

Let me guess, you accepted the tickets, right? Because 90% of females are materialistic ****** who, even though they don't like someone, will stay if they get 'things' out of the deal.

That might be the case with you. People only need money/gifts when they have nothing else to offer (no looks and zero personality). And your personality sounds charming. But yeah, the problem is definitely in "90%" of women and not in you. I bet you get rejected for being ignorant douchebad and your defensive mechanism tells you "oh, it's the women, those materialistic bitches".

Huh, stay with the guy who paid for the tickets or break his heart and waste his money.. Sorta a no brainer.

Am I the only one who smells possible manipulation on the boyfriend's part? Like he saw the breakup coming and decided to go all-out to ward it off? Especially if this is the case, the other commenters are right, OP. Lose the boyfriend. As far as the tickets go, if he offered BOTH of them as a gift, then I maintain that that was his own damn fault and he can't place conditions on a gift once it's already been given. However, if he's only offering the one ticket and intends to use the other, definitely turn him down. Take it from personal experience that you can't really enjoy a show of any sort if you don't like your companion.

Take the tickets and tell him you have to go home , stash them in your room , then ask him if y'all can talk and break up with him. It's a win-win situation ..... I mean except for him lol

No not a good or decent plan at all. I mean if you want to perpetuate the gold digging bitch idea sure, but don't **** him over when he does something nice. Just break up and leave the tickets. I sincerely hope you grow up because if you get married and then divorced your mentality is what's going to cause you to get zip from him. You will be portrayed as a gold digger and judges don't award alimony to gold diggers.

80, if you think it's okay to mistreat all women because an extreme minority is selfish, you have problems.

Well what was the reason you were going to break-up with him?
marcranger 29
She's not happy. That's all you need to know.
tlnorman 18
You idiot. If you're not happy then end it, don't cave just because he bought you concert tickets. Have some self respect for God sakes.

My question to the OP is what band. Might be worth it. "Accidentally" loose his ass at the show. Problem solved
Fightstar 17
You're a horrible person, just like all the other gold diggers in this comment section. Wow! People like you are what is wrong with this world. Buy your own damn tickets, you leech!

This is why you never have the courage, because you can't set your priorities straight. Got only yourself to blame. Idiot. Doesn't take courage. Just stop being an idiot
marcranger 29
I'm so glad everything in your life has worked out so well that you've never found yourself backed into a corner by anyone you've been in a relationship with. Until you're in OP's situation yourself, shut your asshole mouth. You're the real idiot here.
